This is my opinion on what you've said.I dnt understand wht ur tryin to imply here...
U think Iniesta is the better player becoz he dribbles through players and not lose the ball or tht hez a better player overall coz if its the latter i want u to tell me in wht other aspects is he ahead of Leo?..
1. Leo is the better dribbler...and by sayin he dribbles past 3/4 players and often loses it is an exaggeration...besides how many barca games did u watch last season?...is ur opinion based on those CL semi & finals...having watched pretty much every barca game i like to think i know better abt our players...Iniesta doesnt attract as many defenders as leo or get marked like him...i like to see Andrés do wht he does wen the same gets applied to him & on a consistent basis....until thn Leo>Iniesta
2. Iniesta is the better passer of the ball...But Leo is not too far behind and considerin hez a good few years younger(3 years) he ll definitely improve in this regard...
3. Leo's Ball control, vision, awareness, footballing intelligence is as good if not better thn Andrés
4. Goal Scoring Ability ...(u have already touched on this aspect so i wont comment)
5. X factor- the ability to create things out of nothing single handedly – a Consistent Match winner - Give me Leo anyday .
Leo has had a better season thn every1else in worldfootball…a major contributor in Barca's treble..
Leo IS the current Best Player in the World. (those who think otherwise are either biased or havnt watched much of Barca last season)
1. Of course I'm exaggerating, it's called 'exaggerating to clarify'.1.Again by saying Iniesta loses the ball about 600 times less than Messi is exaggeration and nonsensical. Cules who watch both players week in week out know better...Yes, leo does lose the ball more thn Iniesta but not in the same frequency as ur suggesting while there are factors to be considered here which i've mentioned in the 1st pt in my previous post which u seem to 've ignored.
3. I disagree...Leo is criminally underrated in these aspects...he is as good if not better thn Iniesta.
5. I knew u wud bring up tht chelsea goal. Hence i mentioned the word consistent match winner...Getafe(A), Racing(A), Osasuna(A), Shakhtar Donetsk(A),Athletico Madrid (A -Copa), Mallorca (A-Copa) -sme of the games tht Messi was a match winner for us...And if it was Iniesta who assisted the first goal in rome thn it was Messi who assisted for the equaliser at Santiago Bernabéu wit a gr8 pass to henry (another eg. which demonstartes his gr8 passing ability)...1 vital Assist and 2 goals in the game - a game so important tht a loss there wud 've fucked up our entire season including CL and Copa final....Also, u say Iniesta is more of a provider...Lets see Messi's 38 Assists to Iniesta's 24 Assists in their Barca career till now(Leo havin played fewer games thn Iniesta & been more injured thn the latter). Leo also contributes to the build up play as much as Iniesta and Xavi. So i'd say Messi is as much a provider as he is a goalscorer...So hez 2 in 1
I ll get Iniesta's haircut if he ends up winning the Ballon d'Or and FIFA Wpoty and post my pics on this forum for every1 to see
But they do have the same number. So....Wow, now you put it like that Maz, they're almost the same man.
Nope, not convinced. They neither will nor have a similar role for their teams, past or present. The biggest thing in common they have is quite ridiculously their shirt number. Had he not been given the number 8 shirt, this topic would not exist. So there.
I agree with everything Anton has said in this thread basically
Messi is a bigger name, a better dribbler and scores and assists more goals, he'll win an award over Iniesta 10 times out of 10! It's always the good goalscoring dribblers who win the awards more often than not in recent years. Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Kaka to name a few!
