Modric won it as he had a photoshoot with the France Football team last weekend, at least according to the Real Madrid mouthpieces in the press. Probably just a case of his friends being as delusional as he is himself.

As for the ceremony itself then only the winner is invited to it. The award was split last year with FIFA creating their own joke, this is not a gala with a dozen players invited and a top 3 on the stage.

Mbappe will get the new award created for young players and Marta won the Women's award.
