World Cup 2018

There is just a basic thing for Englabd : the draw. Last editions they were unlucky (well Euro 2016 was an humiliation with Island...), this year they have a clear table to reach final if they don't choke vs Russia or Croatia.

tbh this world cup should show more than ever, football is a team game and individuals cannot carry their team. Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar to an extent all out. Croatia would be favourites vs England and Russia are no joke, look at what they did to Spain

Interesting World Cup. Probably the most entertaining in terms of groups and early knockout rounds. That, however, comes at the cost of a potentially underwhelming semis and finals.

I have nothing against England, really, but i kinda want to see them lose at some point, i recently spoke to a fellow Norwegian who said he would support them over Norway if they ever played each other....the anglophilia here is real.
I can already imagine the scenes here if England wins the whole thing, drunk Norwegians in the streets, wearing England shirts, acting as if their own team won it.

Come on, Morten, don't pretend you won't be singing It's coming home all day long.

Anyways, have a similar story to tell. A lot of people in Croatia don't support NT (is it like that in every country?) because of some shady business, long story, not important right now. And I read a post like 'My family at home is thrilled since Croatia's come this far, they are enthusiastic and sing loudly during games (I'm also enthusiastic for England, but that's not the point) and I just can't be happy with them...' and so on.

My oh my...

P.S. he wasn't joking.

Those who called NT "prčija" in translation that would be "shithole", i know situation in HNS and Croatian football, but should i stop supporting my country just because corupted football association. I think its not much better in other countrys, look at argentina and their AFA, but i doubt fans there ignore NT because of them

It (anglophilia) is a result from World War 2. After 1945 Norway became (unofficial) british lapdog with english language equal to norwegian in the country. I know some norwegians who told me that...

I dont mind the language, english is useful to know, but acting like im some sort of English citizen i can do without.
Not everybody is like that, ofc, but some people(especially those interested in football, or i guess monarchy), kinda act that way.

Prčija is a strange word to translate.

I tend to agree. About Argentina, talked to a family from there and they told me they didn't support their NT. But I don't know how many people there do (or don't do) the same.

What bothers me about people who don't support our NT is that they are arrogant as hell. Live and let live. Personally, I still support Croatia, of course. But, with less passion. It's become somewhat colder for me. Hate Modrić for what he did - but that's still our team.

Some of you guys kept saying it is coming home. What does that means? All signs are pointing to Russia winning it?
