World Cup 2022

You're welcome
Netherlands is far better than decent. Felt they got underrated by people before this game when in fact they were undefeated ever since Van Gaal returned last summer. (14-6-0 before the match)

I think netherlands lack talent, especially in attack if you compare them to most of favourites. But Netherlands like Croatia are performing there tactical duties very well. Argentina and Brazil were favourites, but Croatia knocked out Brazil and Argentina also had to go until penslties. South America produces great talent, but tactically Europe superior, to the point they can overbridge that gap in talent.

I might be talking shit, but I seem to remember seeing Ousmane leave Kyle for dead before, no?

Other way around. Kyle caught up to him despite Ousmane's head start.

Mbappe is faster though. Speed with the ball, I would say Robben was the fastest I've seen at his best.

Young/prime Messi has the best acceleration for the first 10-30 yards with the ball though. With ridiculous ball control too, a class above Robben even.

There is no huge bridge in talent between Argentina and Netherlands.

Scaloni was better tactically until period they took game as won... then were better in ET.

They're a disgrace, for a Netherlands side. Playing negative football like some small side. Cross and inshala to some donkeys. Cruyff must be spinning in his grave.

They are, no doubt. Which is why they are a pain in the ass to play against and were undefeated since August 2021.

Wow so much drama here. Certainly did better by not checking the forums during the game:lol:

As for these 2 games... Crazy, what can I say? I'm exhausted after being taken through so many emotions. I almost thought it was over after that last second goal to be fair. But to be fair, Argentina dominated this game for 80-90% percent of the game, exception for the last 10 minutes before extra time when they conceeded... Also this game was dirty as hell, full of controversies, and shit was thrown from both sides. Could've been 2-3 red cards tbf. Ref went nuts.

But yeah, I need to take a break. My brain just can't take it anymore.

Of course I am supporting my country before fav player. But thought both teams were very evenly pitted against one another. Ill support Argentina. Hope they get more clinical. Netherlands is decent side but far from strongest European side.

Honestly, I do see Netherlands doing well in next year's Nations League and the Euros 2024. Malacia will give more attacking input and verticality and Gakpo can only get better. The core of the team should be reaching its prime within the next 2 years.

I have a soft spot for the Dutch and hope the Netherlands go all the way in the next 2 tournaments.

Yes mate. But undefeated means nothing really. You aren't getting to semifinals, to finals or trophies. You just play small team football to get nowhere.

Kaka and Bale looked faster than Robben. Kaka and Bale used to make impossible looking sprints and everyone on the pitch looked slow motion in comparison.

Don't know about top speed stats but that's what the eye test says watching them live in the stadiums.....

Oh, I forgot about Kaka

Yeah, I believe Kaka might edge Robben.

Bale was more hoof the ball ahead and then chase it down, Mbappe style. Not really running with the ball

Nonsense.

It is better for NLs to play in way that gives them best chance to win.

Argentina are doing same.. they are not playing the flowing football many Argentina teams did in past.

Why should NLs be tied to a style of play if think have better chance of winning another way?

There is not one team in this WC trying to play like Cruyffs teams did and they have better players.

Went to watch a Brazil game in the ground and Kaka had this uncanny ability to kick the ball just the perfect amount while running so that he eats up the ground but doesn't give his opponents a chance to tackle. The ball was glued to his feet.

When he used to go on these iconic one man counter attacks everyone else on the pitch looked like they were running in slowmo.

He was insanely and effortlessly quick and strong.
