I know he is one of the best players around. Still, I can't see it as a good move. He bit someone during a wc game, and a very important one for his nt. Pepe and Ramos would be all over him on purpose during any clasico. Other cbs from other teams too. I really cannot see this working. And the next time he does something, the consequences will be even worse. And madrid media will be worse than the english. Signing him is a recipe for disaster.

And he'll be all over them on purpose. There is literally no other player at the moment who can step into that mobile 9 role and do a better job than Suarez can. Higuain? No. Aguero? Injury prone. Cavani? PSG won't sell. Reus? He's a winger truth be told.

Not to mention that altering our playstyle to include Suarez no doubt sets the blueprint for the likes of Munir el Haddadi to be incorporated into the team in the future.

Why do people even care what Madrid's press says? Are their stories and opinions relevant for Barcelona?

He been biting before and it didn't turn out to be a disaster for Liverpool, exactly the opposite.

I wouldn't hesitate if we were to buy him before he bit Chiellini but I have my doubts now that he has done it.

If not for his ban, he could had helped them with the draws or losses they had during his ban, and probably would had won the pl. If he stays there this season, they'll miss him for some games again. I really don't understand how anyone can want a player who gets himself suspended for long periods so often.

I don't want this deal and I don't like this player, especially with his character issues. He's like a ticking time bomb. Had he been at least sincere and apologize for the latest biting incident, maybe I would have looked at him differently, but the guy shows no remorse whatsoever. He has some serious deep rooted issues. Is this the kind of investment we want to add to our dressing room. ???. It's a bold but risky move.

It's not only a question of "morality" though. He's banned for the first two months, and if he does something again he'll just keep getting banned for even longer each time. That hurts a club, whichever one he'll be at next season.

This.

If I somehow knew that he'll never get a long ban again, I'd welcome the signing.

He is crazy, would cost a fortune but let's be honest: trio Messi-Neymar-Suarez would be, at least on paper, one of the best attacking lines assembled.
Of course not everything on paper is good in reality, though he is not similar player to Ibra

Because media of one country has influence on people's mind and other countries' media as well. It can also affect our own players mind sets. It is the very same dirty thing Mou often uses against other teams. It can be costly for us if other teams or the federation or refs think of us as bad guys because of the constant chorus of the media saying so. It will put unwanted pressure on us and analysis of our every single move.

Am I missing something ?? Shouldn't we be trying to get a quality defender. Instead we're chasing Saurez.
If we sign Suarez then it shows people we mean business, and that we can be the best in Europe again.

Maybe it would be enough for the likes of Benetia to push for a move to Barcelona, who wouldn't want to play with such great players?

You mean, who would want to play AGAINST such a great player right? :mou:

It's looking more and more like we're going to get him. I guess I might as well accept it and hope Enrique fixes his attitude and that Suarez succeds with us. He'll always be a dick (but then again, it's not like all our players are angels, so I won't be too bothered with him being a bit of a dick), but hopefully he stops doing things that get him banned for months. He'll be an improvement on Sanchez (if he succeeds, that is), but I still don't think the gap between them is large enough to warrant the risk in getting rid of Alexis to sign him.

Neymar-Messi-Suarez definitely sounds exciting on paper. The most talented front line in the world by far. We'll have to wait to see if it's as good in practice.

I do have a question for all of you who don't want Suarez. If/when he comes to the club, what will you do? Will you support him?
