Xavi Hernández

He'll pull his hair out trying to figure something out with their Midfield options.

They have Manioo who is a great prospect and Ugarte even though he's not really a DM he'll fancy. But guys like Casemiro, Eriksen are aging. And there's Fernandes who's not really a conventional Midfielder and Mason Mount who seems to be getting injured far to much.

If he goes He'll have his work cut out for him.
He needs midfielder who at least can pass and move consistently to not waste possesion like all current Manchester midfielders.

But anyone who watched Barca last season, and watched Barca this season under Flick cant claim Xavi is a good manager right?

Xavi had 18 months here before last season. So why just judge based on last year alone?

Xavi did great with abysmal squad options in 21/22 other than Frankfurt debacle, with freebies joining like Auba, Alves and Adama along only one big signing (Torress).

He was an integral part of the recruitment of that 2022 transfer we had, probably a top 3 summer transfers for us in this century.

Manu is an absolute dogshit atm, the last couple of years of Barca is improvement of what they have.

They won't miss the complainings ETH does though, Xavi loves it

Would be a bad move for Xavi, no manager can succed there, their club is rotten.

But I get him, he doesn't want to manage a small club after Barca, and United is still considered a big club.

Hope he gets some of our bums if he really goes there.

Entertainment guranatee 💯

But bad decision from him, should rather wait for Dortmund job.

You need an A-tier coach aka Klopp or Pep to rescue Manu atm ⚽️

Not much to lose going to united in this state. Turn up, stop the weird tactical decision of allowing the opposition to run through your midfield. That alone will get united more wins.

Man UTD will give him copious amounts of money and if hindsight of his Barcelona tenure, he will know how to spend it unlike Tin Hat.

Whether he gets the best out of it is another question. But I reckon he will get them believing in themselves, play turgid stuff and 1-0 themselves up the table.

Can't do much worse than Tin Hat who has gone from 3rd, to 8th to currently 14th in a season by season consistent downward trajectory.

Other thing is I wonder want team would he bring. Obviously Oscar, but let's see if he is open to improving the rest of his staff rather than the Qatari stars bros. If we learned anything from Pep, it's that what he demanded at Barcelona was way more egotistical than what he demanded at Bayern and City.

Do you think Xavi's status as an ex Barca will make the job harder for him?

Not really. All that will matter is that statistically in 3 seasons he achieved two 2nd place finishes and a LaLiga title against a double CL winning Madrid during that period.

All that matters is on paper he done a top job. Now we as Barca fans have a different perception because of the moaning, the play and the pressure making him crack as a local lad putting way more weight on it than he should have.

Plus the EPL is flooded by Spanish coaches right now.

On the surface he will be a strong candidate. No way he should choose Dortmund which has way more downside despite being a smaller club. If he fails at United people can easily blame the club politics and then he can go to a side like Dortmund anyways.

I hope he doesn't go there. He's one of my favourite ever players and it would hurt to see him manage my most hated club.

This should be the view of every Barca fan. United are like the Madrid of Northern Europe. Their fans hate Barca just as much as Madrid fans do, hate Messi just as much, maybe even more.

Seeing Barca talent lift City was bad enough but if it happened at United it would be unbearable.

I will actively root against him if he goes there.

It will be interesting to see what he will do with players who really do not fit his preferred style of football, if it happens. With the type of positional play football he likes, he will be trying to teach that to a squad full of players who spent the last 4 years playing counter hoof ball.

Will he adapt to the squad like Ten Hag did (and Ten Hag's project failed in the end) or try to teach them?

United often try to align themselves with Real Madrid. This is clearly because the club has underachieved in Europe and wanna try to bask in the reflected glory of 15 European Cups. They also see a lot of their own style in RM. Plus the CR factor (and maybe Beckham too).

For an entity that claims to be 'the biggest club in the world' they don't half hang on to Real Madrid like a much younger brother.
