Scouting network can be best in the world, doesn't matter if the people that are responsible for the final decision don't know what they're doing.

Scouts just gather information, and then someone else goes ahead and pays 120M for misfit Griezmann.

Right about Pedri. Wouldn't count in Araujo as he spent time in La Masia and not proven enough as a great signing.

Araujo didn't spend time at La Masia, he was at Barca B. It's embarrassing that he's marketed as a La Masian by the club.

He was bought for like 5m, worth at least 10x that now. Great signing even if doesn't pan out to be the next VVD.

The club has good scouting departure and also good analytical department etc.
But those departments aren't decision makers, not here and not anywhere else.
That is why you have to have a SD who is good, and who can take righr decisions, and to give him power to mot be undermined by board or coach

Media are guessing and scrambling for stuff to report but some of these rumors I am reading is making me scared. Talk about Azpi, Marcos Alonso being requested as vital for his plan. If true I dont want to know the rest of this "masterplan".

Seems like his choices are almost all free agents or players that other clubs don't want anymore. Wonder why...

Money or not, how we keep being linked with Marcos Alonso baffles me.

Would be a waste of a roster spot, guy is a year younger than Alba is but far shittier than he is as well. You're better off either converting Dest into a LB or signing Grimaldo.

No one is expecting Xavi to spend big and make Barca CL challengers immediately.

What want to see is signs of progression and towards a new/better team in the future and not filling team on old legs and tactics that are inflexible and a way no team in world plays.

Just want to see Barca do the basics let alone anything else which is not a hard ask... Start with a simple formation, players that can work, run and do their job. From what Xavi has shown in last month or so and even before that it is not way it seems to be going.

Barca have gone from a team built on a Messi that would barely run to a Busquets that cant and if goes same way next season it will end in more thumpings by biggers sides and more of same.

When Busi, Pique and Alba will all still be there and being linked to Kouilbaly, Alonso, Aczi, Morata, Lewandowski it all just smacks of them being obliovious to what team lacks compared to other top sides.

Xavi has been badly out coached this last month or so and has shown nothing but stubborness to double down on nonsense about 'obligations' to play a particular way when blatantly dont.

Needs to change a lot and show progress but club are doing opposite. They are in danger of becoming an after thought and losing a generation of young fans which started long before now but getting worse all the time.

Could also be that he's clueless and should not be allowed to have much input in transfers.

Take Ferran Torres as an example. Pushed for the club to sign him and makes him hug the touchline   Some of the stuff Xavi does makes no sense whatsoever.

We'll see what happens this summer though and what direction he takes us.

The front three width of pitch is bizarre and not working.

Left with a front three across pitch and opposition putting five men at back in bewtween them. Literally have two men in between CF and either wide player.

Xavi is then asking midfielder to get up and support the CF and try to disrupt those numbers which none of them bar Pedri looks all that suited while it also leaves Busi massively isolated and getting on ball with no one near him.

It is complete opposite of midfield Xavi used to play in where midfield would go and get ball and seek to creat over loads and when other team make that error open game up.

Need better full backs that are allowed to get forward and have more quality in final third and engine to get back so that they take width more often and wide players can then be ones to support CF and the midfield are given freedom to try and dominate their own area.

Xavi looks obsessed with positional play and stretching park and it is about least 'Barca' approach can remember this past while.

Against teams that will open up can be decent to hit them on break.. v teams that sit back and try to break it is one dimensional and full of flaws.

Some food for you maniacs:

Barcelona are interested in signing Alvaro Morata in the summer. Barca are very attentive to his situation. @tuttosport

At least now that it's clear as day that xavi clearly Instructs his winger do hug the touchline, especially on the right due to Alves ineffective playing as a 2nd DM, they can stop hating on dembele for doing what his coach instructed.

Gotta find the positives in times like these lol.

He's even taken it further & now by having Torres who is useless outside the box hug the line as well 🤦.

Slight improvement last game with depay who despite his own deficiencies, will at least come in & combine with the strikers & midfielders.

Xavi has a few months to learn & do better.

A lot of us feared that Xavi would be dogmatic and favour Spanish/Catalan players and not be able to look at the wider view of what's going on in world football; his ego makes him believe the BEST of the BEST lies inward and within the ecosystem he ruled in as a player. So far, nothing he has done points to him breaking that expectation.

The most concrete rumours (and actually signed players) are Raphina, Christensen and Kessie.

None of them Spanish. Maybe unclench a bit and wait for Summer.
