There's alot of rumours this week, with LaLiga being officially over and European semi's that don't feature Barca. So it is expected that the papers are creating some talk. Regurgitating rumours.

Not buying the Morata link again. Although not discounting Morata may be Xavi's Adebayor.

Yeah it's not like I'm on the #Xaviout train or anything. Now that we've gone on this route, I think he has to be given another full season, no matter what. Having said that, credit where credit is due, which he did receive when we seemed on the up, and criticism where it's due as well based on what see right now - him overplaying the Spanish veterans, and uninspired transfer rumours ,although transfer rumours could be crap, let's see.

Madrid winning with cross & cut backs ball, which is what Liverpool do as well to a lesser extent is probably why xavi is trying so hard to emphasize the wings and crosses & cut backs, except he's missing the quick transition of Liverpool & the wingers both teams have that can actually beat their maker.

How about their midfield?

How about their midfield?

Neither teams really play through the middle or utilize their midfield in the way a pep/Barca team does, they fullfil their function to keep the ball moving & cove that's it, it's all about switching to the wings for both teams.

Real are doing it late in games and getting as many as can in box and launching it as have no other option really. It wasnt their plan from start in any of the games.

Xavi has Barca playing for 90 mins with wide players hugging touchline, two opposition players between them and the CF and no combinations with full backs for most part. The wingers then often being left isolates against x2 opposition defenders doubling up and in shape.

Very different situations.

Madid won 3 CL with zidane based on crossing/ cutting back the ball, about to get to another final doing the same, an over simplification but more or less what they primarily did/do.

Liverpool again is a team that emphasize keeping the pitch wide & getting balls in the box, not so much with crosses but with quick one twoes once they get close to the box and with their FBs always staying wide.

Xavi is just taking it waaay too far, as I said somewhere, it's like the two halves of the pitch is east & west and are never allowed to touch.

But I think these are the things he sees and wants to implement, he is just trash at doing it so far.

Actually, put courtois instead stegen and put busi out and we are even stronger then this madrid side. Point is, madrid always had decent or great managers who wont hesitate to bench someone like modric, while we would be stuck for eternity with ancient one. Madrid went from tech, precise slow build up tempo to total wild no mf approach with two substitues. Something we never do. Imagine pep's barca with last 15 minutes of xaviball cross and insallah.

Real crossed ball and loaded box in these past few games almost through one last throw of dice as desperate not as a game plan so much.

Real won x3 CLs with full backs crossing ball most often to three attacking players in box nothing like Xavis approach.

Also that Real side was as good as any on the break which they destoryed teams like Bayern with and it forced a lot of teams to sit deeper v them.

Xavis tactics are nothing like it other than a lot of crosses with not enough attackers in box or type to target in box either.

If he is trying to replicate anything Real did he is failing miserably and not setting team up to do it nor has players for it even if tried.

Real also had likes of Kroos and Modric who could zing ball from full back to full back opening space for crossses. Barca dont have one player that can do that early and accurately.

For Liverpool Trent has been in DM/RB role a lot this season but he has quality to deliver from there.

Imagine comparing real's previous success in cl with squad full of all time greats to this barca players. And imagine, whoever said otherwise, benz or not xavi smoked madrid side who's in cl final. Just now i realise how we should have put 5,6,7 behind courtois. Xavi is on good path.

I'm really not excited about this Xavi tenure. What we know about his tactics is basically "cross and inshallah"

Ah shit here we go again

Luis Su?rez wants to return to Barcelona, and he has already let Xavi know. He would considerably lower his salary.
