Like Givenchy said, I think the biggest issue is that we don't seem to value anything which would make us better in Europe. Sell Frenkie, keep old Busi forever. It just makes more problems.
Because one thing is for sure, Frenkie was pretty much only one from our midfield who was quick, strong and fast enough Vs team like Frankfurt in the freaking Europe League. Pedri struggled with their speed, Gavi is too small for now, Busi is a dinosaur..
And then we wonder why we get run over? We have no player with any sort of physicality in the midfield and opponents run us over.
Brain or skills won't win Vs muscle if you are slow as ****.
We have been repeating this failing recipe for years now and it seems like it's a curse world in Barca world.. having modern team with modern players. We are trying to play ancient football to win in 2022.
For example Barca should change:
Quick, fast, strong CBs. Absolutely crucial for playing high line.
LB and RB, they need to be the quickest players of the team basically. Player who can challenge too, win some 1vs1.
Midfield, we need to have one evil Casemiro/Kante, insanely hard working destroyer or recovery machine like Kante. More balls to midfield and speed.
Wingers, they need to be able to challenge 1vs1, cross, cut into middle and score a goal. They also need to have speed to cause trouble in counters.
Striker can be slower (Lewa) if rest of the team is quick/fast but even then I would prefer quicker guy who can also hurt in counters.
Overall though, having those physical qualities would make us way harder to play Vs AND we wouldn't be forced to just play one tactic to win. We could also sit back and kill opponent in counter.
Start cleaning by throwing out anyone who is too slow, not skilled enough, don't have legs for it etc.
Our success in Europe and Vs top teams of PL/Germany would improve over night.
