According to la gazetta dello sport, Iniesta is getting it. (Xavi 2nd, Messi 3rd). I don't know how reliable their info is though.

If it's true, it's too bad for Xavi. It was basically a now or never situation.

Yep... a goal on the wc final seems to outshined the rest of the season. It will be a shame if Iniesta wins it over Xavi.

Xavi deserves it more than anyone...true Iniesta had an insane WC but so did Villa!! But both of didnt have the best of seasons with their respective clubs. Iniesta has been out injured for major part. Its just Xavi who had been consistnt through-out the year, apart from messi of course!!

No way. Giving a FIFA Ballon D'or for only one goal is just ridiculous. It has to be Xavi. The man deserves at least one Ballon D'or for what he has given to Barca and to Spain for years now. He is the icon of the kind of football he plays. He won the treble, Euro and now the world cup.

I'm starting to doubt la gazetta's info because FIFA just released the final three and they put the names in the exact same order (Iniesta, Xavi, Messi). I doubt Fifa would give it away like that.

So Xavi might win after all

edit: Actually I'm wrong, Fifa did use alphabetical order in their offical release.

Amazing players all three, but this year I think only Xavi deserves it out of the bunch.. I think the three nominates is a pretty huge misstake to begin with, and if Xavi doesnt win it, no reason to ever care about this prize.

If he does win however, great. Would be very sad to see Xavi quit without atleast one of them.
