Let's look at some of the big money signings so far and how Xavi uses them after demanding them from the board :

Lewandowski - Old technical, associative 9 who needs the team to get him involved and link up with him.

Use : Spamming crosses into box, other than that not involved with the game.

Raphinha - Inside winger who likes linking up with teammates, coming central and shooting

Use : Touchline winger hugging sideline and dribbling fullbacks

Ferran Torres - Inside forward who is specifically known for attacking the box and playing one twos off teammates, also is known to be a poor dribbler

Use - Hug touchline and keep width

Kounde - Top class centre back who can do almost anything there

Use - Playing him as fullback where he's said he isn't nearly as good and is far better as centre back.

Mad scientist Xavi asks club to spend huge money on his special requests and all of them are being played out of position or in roles they didn't play at their previous teams.

On Keith's post, Dembele is the only forward who can hug the line. Everyone else lacks speed/skills/dribble/cross to do what Dembele does.

It's stupid idea. We don't have players for it and isolates Lewy too much.

Honestly ajnotkeith essentially summed it up. Never mind Xavi not having a clue about what he want to do tactically half the time and failing even if he has a plan, he is not even utilizing the players he asked for properly.

I can give him a little break with Kounde because of all the injuries in defense but you're right about his misuse of the attackers.

Xavi: "La Liga is at the same level as the Premier League."

No doubt he believes that as well and cant fathom why his tactics are failing in europe.

La Liga is nowhere near EPL. There is a huge difference across the board.

I haven't kept up with all the detail, but is it 100% established Xavi specifically asked for Lewy? Or was it more that he was convinced he'd be a better option than Auba on every front but actually has no idea how to use him?

Did he ask for Kounde to be a CB? Knowing he has Garcia who comes across as a massive sycophant, that he has just been given Christensen and that he still has two others to account for?

In general the recruitment and fit with the manager is ridiculous everywhere across the pitch. These aren't bad players, but Xavi is still the same old arrogant cunt - either deluded and thinks he is getting across his ideas more or less correctly, or if even cross his mind that they're not, that it's the players who are inept at understanding him.

Like who?

Thing is, our players are top class, bar a few average ones, so the most important objective should be to bring in someone who is tactically astute, can adapt his tactics to counter the team we are playing against, and one who believes in playing beautiful football with a results oriented mindset.

Flick may become available after the World Cup? Let us face it, managing a national team after the World Cup is hardly an exciting or challenging position, but that may also be exactly what he wants.

Gallardo?

Had we hired Poch or Martinez instead of Xavi (no disrespect, still a GOAT midfieldier), there is no doubt we would have gotten knocked out in the CL eventually but at least we would have made it through to the KO stages.
We do not need a Guardiola to make our top squad perform.

Any other suggestions?

I agree but this doesn't work at Barca. The club politics and delusion enforce that the 'Barca way' is the only way hence why we don't recruit outside the club often. If we bring in a different manager and he changes the formation/more defensive, the fans and media will cry bloody murder.

Playing this type of game with the same set up vs Bayern is like running head first into an oncoming train. We already know the results but philosophy, too proud yolo.

I would suggest Tuchel/Poch til end of season then assess. Europa league should be our target.
