I also said Madrid haven't won 2 back to back titles since 2008, and that they can have dips in league form.

The team has been doing a good job exploiting that by getting hard fought wins, even if not pretty at times.

200M was still a lot considering Barcas financial situation. Would've been pretty bad if it didn't work out, because we can't just easily try again. Honestly we're lucky Dembele is healthy and we can compensate a lot with youth players because the 120M for Ferran and Raphinha already look meh, and so do Alonso and Kessie. Not even to mention Bellerin.

It's going very well so far (at least result wise) in the league i don't disagree there, but if we mention last seasons points then we also have to consider the way better team we have now.

I mean just look at some of the line-ups used last season with us starting players like Abde, Jutgla, Demir etc. it was tragic.

All in all it's good, but i wouldn't say it's phenomenal or anything.

The two previous seasons to last, we had a younger, Suarez & Messi, who combined for over 50 & 40 goals per season respectively in the league, a fresh cheeseman & just brought in what was voted as the best Midfielder in Europe in De Jong.

Spent 200m on those 2 players alone.

For all that we finished, 2nd in la Liga twice, if the club had a Spin Dr on their board or a coach like Jose, they would make an argument that finishing 2nd this season & closing the points gap back to 5-7 points, which is where is was with the GOAT, Suarez & spending 200m, would constitute competing & a big improvement in the league, considering we only have in effect 1 effective goal scorer.

I can totally see Jose spinning that if he was out coach btw lol.

But we not about that spin life, winning the league is a must, not just for the levers, but simply because going 4 seasons without winning it, is unacceptable.

While Real are world class in every area of their team and it is laughable to compare Barca squad quality to theirs. It would take hundreds of millions spent to make that claim..
