No doubt he is doing well domestically...so far. The biggest test for him is Europe. We badly need some European silverware. The club has become a meme in Europe for the past 7 years. Would be nice to change that.
I still feel he hasn't come to grips with Europe yet.

Its not really possible because in Europe the opponents can match or better our intensity.

The reason we are having so much success in Liga right now is because we are literally pressing the opponent off the pitch every game and physically dominating them. We may not have that advantage facing the fit Euro teams, then it would become more tactical.

At least we look more than competent to match top teams for intensity and physicality. We have thugs like Gavi to establish presence and we rarely let counters without a foul like we always did.
All is not perfect, but surely a more modern approach than previous seasons.

Back to Xavi, excellent recent form. Small details make the season. A quick look across Europe's top leagues and there are 4 outstanding teams this season, all with practically the same point/game totals. That is Arsenal, Napoli, Benfica and Us. Bayern are on a recent surge but BuLi is really close right now and I haven't included them because of consistency.

Back to us, if we won just one of those Inter games and made the CL knockout rounds we would be getting huge praises right now across Europe. Crashing out of Europe early potentially helped Xavi to build his ideals in a lower pressure environment, taking the limelight and luster off of us, so hopefully that helps the team long term.

Lastly, not Xavi fault but I'm really disappointed we don't have the financial might to build this squad. We're onto something special with the youth and just can't flesh it out. Bad timing all around with Thebes, drop in revenue from levers hitting next season, and a further drop in revenue from the Stadium move and attendance's drop.

It is much closer to a 4321 than that or even a 433.

Clearly Barca are playing a back four and two DMs with freedom given to them based on opposition.

It isnt how he wanted to play either from start.. it is what team have developed into.

There is no way he benches FDJ and play a sole DM of Busi and two CMs higher up park if this was plan from start.

Top post. I also think we made big progress this season, so it would have been nice to sign some 2 top class players in the summer and maybe get something out of Lewandowski's last legs next season.

Some even interpret it as a 442. The formation doesn't really matter,it's the players that gel and form the most effective unit. That's what matters.
