Xavi's evolution as a coach is so interesting.
Despite playing in exclusively possession based team, under possession based coaches, his entire career, he has grown to favour a defensive approach.
And it might have been a bad watch but it sure was effective. Madrid may not have scored for another 90 minutes.
I tend to be a bit more lenient at times with our coaches. I am ok with Xavi staying. Xavi at least has the respect of the players and gets them to play with intensity. You might appoint a Tuchel and have a great few weeks until he loses the dressing room and players lose will to fight for the coach.
35 % possession, if it was Koeman or EV they would be crucified in this forum.
Xavi is a realist. He knows we don't have the players needed to play fancy stuff, and he adapts. Sign of a future top class manager.

Last season we trashed them 4-0 dominating them all game, this time we shut up shop and 1-0ed them. Good to know we are very flexible and can win either way depending on what we set out to do.
