No rebuild is possible if you don't have the right manager for it.

Are we sure Xavi is the right manager to bring us back where we want to be?

The worst part of all these excuses is that it allows the players and him to not even look at real reasons they failed or take responsibility to change it.

Dont think have seen a coach that makes so many excuses yet doesnt change the things that were actually wrong.

We are not sure any manager not named Pep or Klopp is tbh. All you can do is trial and error, and if we win this title it's good progress until next season when questions will be asked again.

It's pretty normal if you ask me.

Yes, but there are other managers out there with much better CVs than Xavi that have proven they can play good football and develop players in Europe and not just in the 15th best league in the World.

No top coach touches the Barca job.

There is a reason they end up with likes of Xavi.

They need to try and find one as dont give conditions any top coaches with options will want.... they hope that is Xavi

Xavi might still end up being a good manager, but this was the fear people had.

What Pep did was unprecedented and he's one of a kind.

Most managers need a couple of steps before going to a big club.

He might just be out of depth here and crumbling under pressure.

Yes, there are. And if Xavi fails we'll probably get one that is more experienced and with a bigger resume.

So far, we are going with this route. Young manager who knows the club, is a former legendary midfielder and is very ambitious. We will see where this will lead us next season.

Save for a disaster in the end of the season and a historic bottling of this league title, he should no doubt continue to get support from the club and continue the job he started.

Former legendary midfielders becoming coaches:
Lampard, Gerard, Xavi, etc

Former no-names as players or no players becoming top coaches:
Tuchel, ETH, Nagelsman, Di Zerbi, etc

Choose which side are you on

Xavi: "Yesterday we tried training on a dry pitch in Barcelona. The grass really hurts us. It's bad, not only for us but also for Getafe. Look at Munir, who couldn't even shoot the ball..."

Omg :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: The meme has returned.
I'll try not to be as reactionary as most of y'all on this forum, but honestly that is a really poor excuse from Xavi, especially from someone who played there several times during his playing days. His renewal should be put on hold cos if there's anything that LL has shown us ahead of next season, it's that we'll continue to win matches, but the question marks will be based on the quality of football. If it's good on a consistent level, he should continue, if not, he should be SACKED. But honestly, it's alarming when we haven't won the league yet but our players are heavily underforming in the final stages due to the huge lead we gained after the Clasico, and Xavi is struggling to motivate them to finish the job.

Pep is a rare exception.
top player, GOAT-tier coach.

You don't go by what happens once in 100 years
Laporta was so dumb to think he will find again a Pep in Xavi

Well none of those other coaches you mention come close to Pep either.

It is a numbers game.

Not some idea that nobodies make better coaches.

Laporta wanted those Germans before Xavi was the talk at time though. Not that he was obsessed with next Pep in Xavi so much.

They don't come close to Pep, but they have proven record and there is evidence they are/can become WC coaches, if not Pep

Going by hoping a former legendary md of the club will be the next Pep is as stupid as it gets.
He was obsessed. Remember all the rumors about Pirlo? That he sees his Rijkaard in him?
All that crap
