Played a good match vs Madrid and lost to some errors and bad luck. Last night played badly and got the 3 points on a tough ground vs a CL-level team that is likely to reach the knockouts.

Nothing to panic about. Football level is gonna pick up after De Jong comes back. He's an instrumental player in our midfield, the one field player that the team can't replace properly.

Criticism for how the team performed vs Sociedad is fair, but asking for a championship-winning manager to be sacked is nothing short of idiotic. Even for this forum's standards.

So, the team struggled to play good football consistently while missing multiple starters and having a short squad. Move the fuck on...
So shouldnt sack any manager who has won a league title before?

We won an away game against a top 5 club in Spain. If that was Atletico Madrid nobody would bitch about the ugly football, but rejoice the 3 points.

Correct. Not in the current situation of the team. You can have that luxury if you have a great team, but Barca simply don't have that. Xavi is one of the reasons the team got the title last year lol, not one of the problems.

Nah dont think it is as hard as you're claiming to win LaLiga in its current state.
Particularly not when you have teams like Girona 4 points ahead of you.

It is very hard. Spanish teams do great and play semis or finals in European competitions on a regular basis.

Madrid did not get 2 titles in a row since 2006-07 and 07-08.

Lets see but currently there is a team 4 points ahead of us playing brilliant football who were in Segunda 2 seasons ago.
Only team it should be "acceptable" to finish behind is Madrid and if we do it should be because they were very good.

Yes, but this is just momentary. Girona is not going to fight for the title. Madrid brushed them aside easily, and they are yet to play Barca, Atletico... still early in the season.

Xavi will stay here until the summer regardless of what happens, but for him to receive another extension the team need to:

1. Challenge for the La Liga title
2. Show an improvement in Europe by simply competing better and not getting eliminated and outplayed by inferior opponent
3. Play better football

His contract runs out in 2025 with the club having an option for an additional year. I doubt he stays basically as a lame duck coach so they'll have to make a decision to either renew him in the summer or look for a replacement depending on how the season goes.

Xavi could get the sack when there is a complete meltdown in our squad. Long losing streak or 2-8 kinda result in CL elimination phase. The comparisons with EV are fair, but you are forgetting where Barca were in 2019/20 and where they are today. IMO the pressure on Xavi to win it all is not there, the risk of playing U-19 players every now and then so far hasn't backfired as well.

I have a certain amount of slack for Xavi because a couple very key midfielders were injured but we need to see better play when they come back.

Pedri and FDJ just levels above what likes of Romeu or Gavi or even Fermin at times been adding.

We've played shitball 90% of the time when panda and FDJ weren't injured with Xavi. Stop acting like a gimp to gimpball if poss.
