If he stays at barca, he will go into the next season as a 34 old to play under a coach who's all about shaking things up and bringing back hunger and dynamic. He'll play far less then last season and in addition he's retired from the national team as well. If he still thinks he has one or two seasons in him in a less intense environement than barca, it's logical he would go for that instead of being a bench relic at barca whose job is to tell the youngsters stories from the glory days.

We needed one like Kroos but we let him join Madrid instead. I do not fully trust Rakitic or Rafinha to fill the void Xavi leaves behind. Unless Lucho is thinking of playing Mascherano in DM and moving Busquest further I'll find it odd if the club doesn't sign another midfielder.
