Since he cant play 90 minutes in big matches Im sure he can boss it in the last 30 minutes like he did last night. This should be part of the tactics.

Happy you're amongst " the chosen ones" then... ( man seriously this is starting to get ridiculous, why don't you just ignore me ?)
Just because nobody points it out it doesn't mean it's underrated. Not many can see those little things, most focus only on goals and assists. But if somebody (who can see it, like Bernie) points it out then everyone agrees.

And there was a time when we had an intense tactical disagreement then he sulked and replied to all my subsequent posts with "okay"

As long as it makes me happy. Yes I rate Xavi among the all time best footballers. Better than Zidane to me, without a doubt.

Messi is a phenomenon, and like Xavi said, his biggest rival at the moment is himself.

To answer your statement, I am on a crusade against those wanting to see him on the bench on every big/important game and/or who wouldn't have any problem seeing him leave this summer.

I think most if not all here agree with you. Take it easy. Everyone loves Xavi here. Although most I guess including me don't think he can play regularly anymore or should be a starter in the big games.

Xavi is 35. He is still brilliant whenever he plays, but not capable of playing every game now.

We can't currently play and dominate the midfield like before because we don't have the players for that anymore and Xavi, Iniesta and Busi will get overrun because they don't have the mobility and defensive capability as they did before.

No he should start instead of Iniesta. Iniesta should be the sub. Also I don't want to see Iniesta - Rafinha midfield ever again. They were horrible everytime they played together.

And board should not allow Xavi to leave if we can't get another passer. Damn his salary he is still very valuable part of team.

I'm possibly the biggest Xavi fanboy on this forum after you, but even I don't think he should start important games. The current strategy of bringing him on after 60 minutes is working perfectly well, because teams are tired at that point and his poor work-rate is fairly well hidden. When you start him, you'll see that he can't handle the intensity at the beginning - he looks like a lost puppy running around trying to press at snail pace - just not compatible with Lucho's Barca. He's perfect for protecting a lead, as we saw against Madrid.

Unfortunately, Iniesta and Neymar are in dumpster form, otherwise we wouldn't even be having this discussion. I agree that Xavi should start against the smaller teams, the intensity is not as high and it's the perfect time to rest the other midfielders and keep Xavi's match fitness up.

And yes, I put Xavi above Zidane too, he's easily the best Barca midfielder ever.

Xavi is the legend of the club, he should do whatever he finds best for him. No one on current Barca board or future board will keep him against his will. I don't think he's upset with his playing time or how Lucho treats him. If he leaves it will be just to make extra cash before retirement.

Barcelona have met with Xavi's agent this morning to discuss the player's future. The midfielder has a 3-year offer from a Qatari team. [md]

Please stay Xavi, and retire at Barca and start working on your coaching license here.

I would like us to move on. It becomes a problem when you hav spent over 100M and our midfield can't control the game.
Xavi shouldnt have to not do hat he desires jst because we are incompetent in signing players, his pposition should be honorary and not the way it is now.

We coould have even bought pplayers like pjanic who really can control the midfield and pogba a mor box to box option
