Re-watched Real Madrid 0-2 Barcelona April 2010 at the Bernabeu today on Barca gamepass.
These are Xavi's highlights. No words needed.

Comments for this game are on pages 55-59 of this thread.
At 1 min 40 seconds Xavi makes a pass directly between 2 players and it rolls over the sideline. He seems to have expected Pedro to run to a spot. Pedro didn't. . . .
Why am I mentioning this? I can't imagine I'm the only one who would be amused by this. . . . . .and that amusement displays just how good and Consistent Xavi was in his prime seasons.

That game will forever be my favorite Xavi performance. Breathtaking composure as if the man only produced Alpha waves on the field with no worries whatsoever. There's a reason why I have Xavi & Messi as my sig right after they won the match!

Watching these (I can't believe, I'm writing this) old clips, I suddenly realized how outstanding Pedro's movement off the ball was. It really was as good as it gets. Pedro was never a worldbeater with ball at his feet, his greatest attribute (aside from his finishing) was his ability to break open a defense with said movement, and I'm pretty sure that this is the main reason he seemed to stagnate - or decline if you will - during the post-Guardiola years. Our game just didn't make use of him as it once did.

I am aware of the fact that, despite him being a football legend, I am getting too emotional when speaking about Xavi. I am really missing him just for the fac of him being on the pitch or making his amazing entrances fr the last third of the games.

He would have been badly needed these last 2 months but every player must call it a day. The sad thing is that he was still playing amazingly well and was the most consistent player last season. It's still awkward to watch Barca at Camp Nou knowing that Xavi isn't there.

Saw on Barcastuff (twitter)
Xavi: "My goal is to work at Barça. Don't know if that would be as coach or assports director, I'm just starting my reconversion." [tv3]

My personal preference is as a coach. I don't care where in Barca he coaches. The 1st team head coach, 1st team skills coach. A skills coach in La Masia etc.

This legend...look at what he did last year for us...

He was used pretty good. It helped him and his contribution was a fantastic piece of the 'puzzle of the Champions'

and it's so good! that his career finished with such good form.

It just leaves me with that feeling that he would have been a great addition off the bench to mend our midfield during these first few months of our current season.
