I watch a lot of MLS highlights and I agree Xavi playing in MLS would make a big Impact on kids and the players. It's the same thing every match I've seen Long balls, Poor defending and lack of Midfield control or just no midfield in General.

I've seen it to many times MLS Midfielder players lack Technical skills and Brains they would try and be cute with the ball and easily get disposed of and constantly giving away the ball in Dangerous areas. I'm so use to watching Barca now that every time I watch MLS Highlights or games it's night and day difference between the two. It's not the Players fault in MLS they play like this it's the way they were taught early on Having Xavi in MLS and even being a teacher would Certainly Help a lot.

Yes, I'm disappointed, too. He could really have had an impact on US soccer, showing today's kids what a top technical player looks like. US soccer has its roots in the awful English hoof & chase tradition, and that's still what most kids get the most exposure to: athleticism, direct long ball in the channels, speed and hustle.

Agree.

While I agree that it would have been great to see Xavi in MLS, I also think it's irrelevant that we feel that way. Xavi gave us everything, and in the end he went to Al-Sadd because he chose to. We should respect that. Hell, considering all he did for Barcelona, if Xavi wanted to do nothing but kick the ball at a wall in private, he should be free to do so and not be criticized.

I don't wanna keep whining about Xavi having left but everytime I see Barca play at the Camp Nou I got the wierd feeling knowing that he isn't there anymore. Simply still not used to it...
