Literally with this formation not a single sub is useful to beat top teams except Alba and Fati .. we need to buy players that fit our style if Xavi decides this is what he wants to stick with.

Raphina is too slow for a winger and Kessie is not technical enough for our midfield

Yeah, lack of depth is an issue with this set-up. Balde is also indispensable as Alba can't provide the width and play both fullback and winger.

Lol Xavi is an idiot that it took him this long to realize he needs to play 1 winger only not two and play 4 midfielders and to build attacks from the middle. If he want to play Kissie, then Kissie is the 4th midfielder similar to Gabi .. but the 3 main midfielders should be controlling midfielders. Obviously against weaker teams he can play with 3 attackers but only 1 of them is a winger .. this leaves us with Fati and Lewa only as the other two players

This is probably the setup to go for in knockout games.

But you use it against teams that will just sit back in the league and you will probably look like turds. Check Atletico Madrid game.

Tinker for the opponents I guess. Right choice for today though to persist with the initial 11 for as long as possible.

And that makes it two games that Xavi has totally owned Ancelotti.

Feel that it's somewhat the opposite.

This setup looked terrible when Atletico started pressing high and putting numbers forward. Equally in the 2nd half today when Madrid started pressing and throwing numbers forward they looked better and got a little consolation at the end.

However the motivation level of the players today was outstanding, even Busi was running and fighting for balls, it's hard to replicate that vs Espanyol or Valladolid. For me that's the biggest reason for the win, we played with a very high intensity and desire that we have to keep going with.

Will we play this against Man Utd?
