Anyways, more to the topic about transfer markets :
We could easily get big money sales from many players in this squad. Gavi, Pedri, FDJ, Araujo, Balde, these are all players who would likely sell for at least 80m on the market if we made them available and they wanted to leave.

Its not that we have no spending capacity or no real assets. We are just more happy to keep the young players we have and use them to build our project going forward.

Its bc you were trashing him before he got injured then after he got injured he became a reason why we got knocked out of EL.

You put up a post about a comparison with Vinicius, who was a key player in CL that season. Of course I criticized Dembele who by comparison achieved nothing in CL except become a youtube meme with that Liverpool miss.

What does that have to do with Dembele's value for Barcelona? It's not like Barcelona has Vinicius. They have Fati and Torres.

That's January 2nd 2023, ie, the point where Dembele wasn't injured and had been having a stellar season, whilst Vinicius and Madrid did rubbish in both league and CL.

Again, Vinicius is a better player than Dembele. He is world class, Dembele is not. Until further evidence.

Put up a post saying Dembele is not one of our best players. Not comparisons with world's best players. Barca are not winning CL like Vinicius did, scoring in semis and final.

Usual Serghei-ish embarrassing mental gymnastics, involving common themes:
bashing Dembele, protecting his pet Raphinia, protecting Xavi, and belittling the value of others (Fati, Ferran, Abde etc)
always involving laughable contradictions and change of position every 2-3 months depending on results

The bottom line is simple:
Raphina probably is not good enough for Barca in general, but he is DEFINETELY not good enough for a team coached by a coach as limited in finding solutions as Xavi is

He didnt have a world class season last season really.

Rashford and that Georgian lad were better LWs last season really.

Was the season before and probably should be this year if kicks on.

Still much better than Dembele.

In CL yes and had better team.

Fitness aside not much in it in La Liga when both fit.

Vini was not world class last season.

He was poor away to City and didnt do much v better teams in league. Had a poor WC also.

Also he played a very different role. Almost a wide forward who can 'cheat' on last man to keep defences honest and have threat when pushed high v Benzema.

I think though that were we under more lax salary cap rules like the EPL or even Serie A, that we may consider a big sale of someone like Gavi or Araujo.

We don't have the luxury of selling someone big to then re-invest big. And then if they fail, then to re-invest big again.

Losing one of those instead is going to weaken the squad with our cap margins right now, and probably hinders our thinking. Case in point, Dembele is gone and no one is coming in. Not even all the registrations until we can wage dump Longlay and Dest.

We will see where we are next season, after the January (or summer latest) arrival of Vitor, and whether we struggle to register everyone again with that transfer expenditure. It could be another summer of trying to force someone out.

Probably Lewandowski, possibly Gundagan if he has a bad season, and maybe Kounde if he has another average one. Those are our wage vacuum banana skins right now.

See quite a few of the Barca media starting to go after Xavi for how he is using Pedri as some kind of second striker rather than putting him in position to influence game on the ball.

Laporta has renewed this cancerous amigo yet right, much less for 30M he's asking for?
Just because he's coaching one of the top teams in the world doesn't mean he deserves to earn as much as Guardiola or Klopp... He's a newbie manager first of all and the team doesn't look too promising at the moment. If they get eliminated in the group stage again Laporta should think of someone else honestly.
