Yaya Toure

So he's had an OK season and not a great one, so what?

Iniesta had a poor season by his standards. Don't see him being sold or people saying he should be. Yaya was an important cog in our team that year.

The wages that Toure was on were a joke for the player he was and we showed him a lack of respect by not giving him what he was worth.

On top of all that he wasn't given a run of games either and the diver got played instead of him.

Agreed and although id rather have Toure in our side, it has to be because he is hungry and 100% on his game. If his mind has wondered elsewhere, then that is a shame but id rather cash in.
Wouldn't it be efficient to try and resolve the problem with employer/employee at all costs given how much of an asset he is to our system? Toure Yaya's don't grow on trees after all. I am a huge Biscuits fan, but Yaya was fundamental in our successes over the last few years more so than Sergio and to just shrug him off that easily just isn't fair to him or the club.

his salary is a reasonable amount.
iniesta, xavi and puyol make 5 000 000 euros/year. do you expect yaya to make more than that when the best palyers of our squad make that much?

man im getting tired of stating the same thing over and over again; YAYA IS NOT GETTING SOLD MERELY BECAUSE OF PERFORMANCE. NOR IS HE GETTING SOLD MERELY BECAUSE OF HIS AGENT BUT THE BOTH COMBINED IN A DISGUSTING MIX.

thank you.

There is a huge gulf in what Yaya earned and what Iniesta etc earn, I'm not saying he should be on par with them, but his wages were really a joke. It's bizarre anyone can think otherwise.

His agent is complaining because he barely got a run in the team and due to his laughable wages. His agent's bitching is because of all that and is just an added problem, not the cause.

so he was our best player when we were shit.

superb.

he's had a year of underperformances, and his agent has spent this year blaming everyone but yaya and doing his best to engineer and exit from the club for him. well, congratulations, because it's succeeded.

and tactically this makes perfect sense. I've been over this one hundred times (and this will be the last time I do it) but yaya is a sweeper DM who is NOT suited to the collective pressing game pep likes to use. busquets makes things happen (entertainment was a joke, irvin) and is aggressive in his pressing, which is why he is suited to playing DM for us.

you say he's not capable. but the selection policies of pep guardiola (1 CL, 2 lligas, 1 copa del rey, 1 spanish supercup, 1 european supercup, 1 club world cup) and vicente del bosque (2 CL, 2 lligas, 1 spanish supercup, 1 european supercup, 1 intercontinental cup) say different.

and look, ultimately he's not going to milan. or inter. or chelsea. or united. or arsenal. he's going to city. he's taken the coin and good fucking luck to him. that's obviously what he and his agent value the most.

a few days ago my friend asked me what I thought about Last Samurai. I said it was a great movie, despite Tom Cruise. The same thing applies here. We are a great team despite Busquets. Oleguer was our starting RB on a team that won the double in 2006, does that make him a great RB? NO!! So we went out dropped coin on Dani Alves. Time and time again Busquets made dumb f**king mistakes. His performance in the 2009 CL Final showed promise, and this season he was nothing short of awful. And yes, Toure Yaya was the best player on a bad team in 2008 because he was the only one who gave a flying f**k. If the club was going to sell Toure and get an upgrade at his position, I have no problem w/ the move. But Busquets is not a freaking upgrade, as Dani was to Oleguer. He's not even a lateral move. This is like a CEO quitting his/her job to go flip burgers at McDonalds. I said in 2007 that the best move we made during the summer was not Thierry but Yaya freakin Toure. Three years later I was spot on. But this. This is a bad move.

If the FIFA organizers wanted to shut down the vuvuzelas, they would have asked Yaya Toure ... and he would silenced all of them ... why?

Some body is feeling bad about going to City... I guess he already signed for City but now wants Barca not to agree the offer from City :D I really hope it is so!!

Come on Rosell, grab as much as you can from City and send the player to City against his wishes... after all the crying to media they deserve that, the player & the agent

Perhaps he wants to play with his brother? I think there is a reason why he used to prefer arsenal not he choses city...

some of you guys seems to be so demanding of yaya.
not like he made us lose any games or something.
the man had a poor run of games, he needed some stability.
and he did bossed some matches this year. we all saw that.

so great that he wishes to stay here. but i dont think that the situation would change.
pep would still prefer busi at dm.

Rosell coming in won't make any difference imo. It's Pep that doesn't rate him, not Laporta.

I just think he's trying to get more money out of city by saying that.

Finally a Cule that see's and speaks the truth about Busquets and what a severely limited player he is. Busquets isn't half the player Toure is, nowhere near the same physical presence, none of the attacking input of Toure, and certainly no more consistent with a need to make stupid fouls all the time. If he is the only replacement of Yaya, Barca are taking a significant step backwards in the competitiveness of their squad in my view. Really should have learned from the weaknesses shown against Inter, not make them more acute.
