Yaya Toure

He was, not anymore. His absurd (in our current time) values of how to manage a team has catched him up big time due to his stubbornnes etc. and the result is clear for all to see.

He would not last a single day outside of Arsenal if he was to manage a top club.

Pep's reply to Yaya:

Guardiola rejects Yaya Toure snub claim
October 27, 2011

By ESPNsoccernet staff

Barcelona coach Pepe Guardiola has denied that he froze Yaya Toure out of the club, insisting that the midfielder asked for a transfer and that the Catalans "tried to convince him to stay".

Toure, 28, left Camp Nou in July 2010 for big-spending Manchester City in a dealt worth around £24 million and enjoyed a fine first season, winning the FA Cup and helping Roberto Mancini's side qualify for the Champions League for the first time.

The Ivory Coast international has since claimed he was forced out of Barca and this week reiterated that stance, insisting Guardiola "ignored" him and that he "did not want to leave".

"When I spoke with Guardiola he left me blank," Toure said. "His explanations were a bit strange and he ignored me up until I had the offer from City. My family were laughing because they thought my situation at the club with Guardiola was a joke.

"At the end Guardiola spoke to me, but initially he never said anything. He had no confidence in me. I wanted to stay and he did not. If Guardiola had spoken to me I would have stayed at the club. I did not want to leave. I wanted to finish my career at Barca."

But Guardiola has responded by rejecting Toure's comments, with the Barca boss recalling events towards the end of Toure's spell at Camp Nou differently to his former player.

"The doors of my office were always open," Guardiola said. "The reality is that he asked president Joan Laporta to leave and that we tried to convince him to stay. If we face City in the Champions League I'll talk to him."

who to believe.

black man or white man.... where are worms and hba when you needem

oh do one will you.

There was obviously a problem, otherwise Toure would never have said anything at all in the first place. There was obviously a problem otherwise Ibrahimovic would never have said anything in the first place. There was obviously a problem otherwise Bojan would never have said anything in the first place.

3 players all with something negative to say about Guardiola's man management. Guardiola learly needs to learn from his mistakes and treat all his players well, even the ones who are not in the starting 11 or squad every week.

That last part is almost like a threat:lol: Would love to face them in the CL (if they even manage it out of their group).

"People comparing Silva with Messi? Look, there's only one Messi. Messi is Messi. The best in the world. And he's also a great guy," Toure was quoted as saying in an interview with Sport.

I know Busi is awesome and all but man I just miss this dude. The way he used to glide through the midfield so smoothly, never have I seen such a perfect combination of physicality and that delicate technical touch.

Remains one of the most underrated players to our treble success IMO.

Apart from his ever solid presence in midfield, that staggering goal that got us back in the game when we were looking lost in San Mames, the way he effortlessly filled in at CB at the biggest of stages...

Quite underrated at City too, I genuinely believe City will have a harder time coping without him than without Silva.

Here's a great tribute video, all his goals and assist with us :

0.43 really demonstrates that delicate touch he got. @ 2.00 also brings out one of his often overlooked qualities, that excellent vision and the ability to regularly play that Xavi-esque over the top pass.

One of the most complete midfielders in the world and would fit into any powerhouse out there...

Funny, I was thinking of Yaya's goal against Bilbao in that CDR match last night after reading his interview in Sport...One of my favorite players to have ever worn the club shirt

Some amazing goals / assists in there, of a whole variety. Truly a complete midfielder.

Fuck it, let's forget about defenders. Get him back and play:

Valdes

Mascherano - Toure

Busquets

Alves - Xavi - Iniesta

Sanchez - Fabregas - Thiago
