You are conveniently forgetting that del Bosque is known to be a Catalan nationalist and that's why he let 21 year old Busquets play the most minutes ahead of all the other Spanish midfielders in the World Cup winning campaign. Because he's homegrown. :pep:

You might actually be right..I saw many madridistas who believe that Del Bosque take his orders from Pep. That might explain why a 21 year old Catalan nationalist got more praise then a 30 year old Basque traitor. :pep:

African player vs an Argentine where players are mined and sold for decades - I'd say there's a massive gap in understanding how the football game is played, both on & off the pitch

Seriously who are you to call Xabi Alonso a Basque traitor?

Cules petty preciousness in defending their own against other opinion that another player is better is truly laughable. You all dish it out, yet it seems cannot take it.

Xabi Alonso wanted to return to La Liga and with only two clubs that are at the level that he was/is at, at that time, what did you expect him to do when Real wanted him? turn them down?! Get Real! (no pun intended).

The only area where Busi is inferior to Yaya is the goalscoring...also Yaya's best performances for City came with a DM behind him. Make of this info you want.

Because is a well known fact that Pep cancelled his vacation to convince him to stay..I didn't see him doing that for Ibra, Eto'o or Bojan. Yaya himself said at the time of his leaving that he wanted to be close to his brother..though saying that you left because you wanted to earn as much as Xavi wouldn't have looked as good for cules.

Exactly why is Busquets better in everything except goalscoring?

Yaya is bigger, faster and stronger. He can play in all positions. He can dribble. He can pass. He can even play CB but Busquets there is a natural disaster. Yaya knows how to shoot a ball and how to attack. He is better in the air. What more do you want?

Busquets is as useful as a scarecrow in defense compared to Yaya and completely useless in attack.

And what has a DM behind Yaya got to do with anything? City needed a goal and Yaya, being as versatile as he is, moved further up the pitch and made the difference. Just shows how good he is. He keeps playing at all kinds of positions and he is very good.

wait ... please don't tell me there is a "Yaya is better Sergio" bus ... because after every thing Sergio has won, I'm pretty sure that this bus drove off of a cliff around the time that he was hoisting the World Cup ... or was it his 2nd CL Trophy ... I dunno ...

*full disclosure* I was on the "Yaya is better than Sergio" bus until about midway through the 2009-2010 season. at which point I jumped off. I never looked back.

Pedro has won WC, CL, League and God knows what! Yaaay he is better than CR7!!! :worthy:

Well, unfortunately, in football terms, Yaya was born in Africa, so sorry if I don't take national accolades in to account.

this is very true.

luckily for him, as the heartbeat of the most talented African side (by a distance) of the last 10 years, he has dominated the CAN and won it multiple times instead of being a plodding lazy non-factor. man, that sure would be embarrassing for the big fella if it wasn't true!

I can't and won't argue with someone who believes that he would have done a better job as Barca's coach then Pep.

Sarcasm is "a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter jibe or taunt", usually conveyed through irony or understatement. Most authorities distinguish sarcasm from irony; however, others argue that sarcasm may or often does involve ironyor employs ambivalence.

Irony (from the Ancient Greek εἰρωνεία eirōneía, meaning dissimulation or feigned ignorance) is a rhetorical device, literary technique, or situation in which there is a sharp incongruity or discordance that goes beyond the simple and evident intention of words or actions. There is presently no accepted method for textually indicating irony, though an irony (punctuation) mark has been proposed.

Why did you reply then in the first place?
Dont take everything you read so seriously. If I say that I am God, do I really mean that?

Exactly what Barcelona is all about.

So, whats the problem? Is it a bad thing to have these attributes? Strength, speed, size + everything that Busquets can do.

Forget it, Maria. For some reason sarcasm doesn't work in this thread. It even got me an infraction. Better get out of here. :D

I would only reply to this then:

The fact that Yaya's best performances for City came with a DM on the pitch have everything to do with the fact that you say that he is a beter DM then Busi and he should have stayed at Barca and play in that position instead of the catalan nationalist.

In my opinion, Yaya is the definition of the box-to-box player and just because he played as a DM for us in a time when Xavi was the boss of midfield(unlike now) doesn't mean that he would have been better in that position then the one who was our best midfielder this season.

And exactly what can he not do? Pass sideways or back to one of the defenders? Avoid to head the ball into his own goal?
That's not really a point to debate when you don't seem to realize what Busquets does. His quickly passing, vision and the ability to nulify great players are really underrated. If you put like that then Xavi only does sideways passings...
Toure is not the same type of DM as Sergio.
When Yaya was at Barça I liked him more when he played a more advanced role. I remember his last game, when he had a great 1-2 with Messi, that resulted in a goal.
