Yaya Toure

You can't reason with some of these guys once they dislike a player. There's alot of you here. If a player does well, you keep quiet, but when he does bad, you are the first people to criticize him. It mostly happens with Henry, Toure, Marquez, Keita, Zlatan, and up until recently, it happened with Maxwell.

I didn't get so see the Espanyol game live but downloaded it and watched again. You guys have exaggerated the performance of Yaya. Maybe it was because we tied and your emotions were up, but he had an ok game. Certainly not the worst, of course not the best. As for his effort, there were times when he didn't put a lot of effort, and there were times where he went all out. I don't know the reason why he did that, but it was just one game.

Messi hasn't scored in three or four games, should we bench him? No. Yaya doesn't have a good game and everybody wants to bench him. Also, you should give Yaya some lenience by the fact he hasn't been playing consistently. That's of course of you don't like him.

Whatever, I know this is going to make me sound like I hate Busquets, but I don't. I just think that they have different styles and their styles should be used for different types of games.

Yaya MUST start next week. last season he was a beast and this season at 26 years old when a player should be at his prime Pep plays him less and less, Busquets may be more talented but he is not better than Yaya defensively. In an away match vs Inter who is a team that attacks fast on counter we need a good/physical DM

Hey man.. You need to look deeper... Where does Busquets pass mostly? to his closest co-players.. In other words his passes are very facile..
This is the easiest think to do.. not to risk a more attacking pass.. Say the same about xavi... You can't..
And the way that barca unfolds with passes, and his position made him the most succesful passer yesterday.. And if you can, recall a killer pass busi made yesterday.. i do not think there is..

Ok, busi is the future, but don't generalize like that, and focus on characteristics..

And i remind again: I think Keita should be dropped out, not sergi.. And i dont think there anyone who thinks that Yaya-Sergi is not better than Keita-Sergi.. Only guradiola plays KEita so much that is against common football sense..

Do you know what is the 'more' in that story?

My man.

Nice post.

I don't think there are people who don't like Yaya here ( Well except Sunny, I think he doesn't considering his comments ) we all love him but some of us really question his commitment this season. While it's true that Pep has prefered Sergio more this season Yaya hasn't helped his cause when he was given the chance. Yes you people will point games like Valencia and Deportivo and the ones he played very good and I'll give you that but you have to look at his bad performances as well and he's had bad games more than good games this season. And the people who are doing the Yaya vs Keita debate are partially wrong, it's not Yaya vs Keita it's Yaya and Sergio. And considering I think that Yaya is a better player than Sergio at DM that hasn't been the case this season sadly.

EDIT: Forgot to mention this, while I was happy to see Keita start vs Inter hoping he'd pick it up where he left with Real Madrid ( and he didn't unfortunately ) Pep made a big mistake not to sub him with Yaya last night since he was having a very bad game.

I can't see what could be wrong playing Yaya for Keita, he's as good as Keiteee if not better in that BTB role and imo got a better shot as well... Though I agree with Valon Yaya didn't help himself be it through his work rate and commitment when given chance or with the comments made by his douche of an agent

i also think that yaya shouldve replaced keita.
yaya is better offensively, has a better shot and is better defensively than keita..
yaya-busi in midfield=safe..

I don't understand why Pep hasn't tried Busquets in Keita's position yet, as the box to box midfielder, opening up the DM spot for Yaya. Honestly the big man and Sergi work very, very well together, not to mention Yaya excels most at DM when he can play closely behind Xavi. It seems a blatantly obvious choice for midfield while Andres is out, give it a shot Pep!

Next season we will be left with the supaman Keita while Yaya being shipped out due to someone precious gut feeling, so no point in arguing. And I dont think Yaya will start next match because Keita is so freaking awesome in many ways possible and of course i have to mention his majestic display in Meazza, one that enabled him to play 90 fucking minutes.

+1

Yaya is such a good playeer, but due to one reason or another hee hasnt been consistent, and that shit with his agent royally fucked him up...

lets hope we see the real Yaya next year...:D

and it's not ibra's agent didnt open his big mouth..
so i would rule out the agents thing..
one way to make a player giving a good performance on a consistent level, you would have to play him, give him trust.
there are many other players who have been inconsistent as well, but they're still playing week in week out.
so my guess is that it's a problem that only pep knows..
maybe its his "feeling" again :p
