Because Song's normally a starter for us to begin with, just like Zlatan?

You guys have a mediocre team without him. You got a few players with potential, but the days you guys could say you had several good players are over.

I'd not mind Sweden ditching Zlatan though.

At this point, Sweden could build a team of players who went to the semifinal in EURO U-21 from 2007 and the players who won the tournament for a few months ago. For me, it's a very exciting combination. There is enough talent. This combined with a "one for all, all for one" menality and a tactically minded coach, we would do pretty well.

The problem is that we have a player who take too much space. At the end of the day, it doesn't lead to greater success. During the autumn in 2007, Luis Aragonés did the unthinkable move and had the balls to not call up Raúl beucase the latter didn't fit for them. In hindsight, it was a turning point for the Spanish national team.

That's exactly what I want to see. When Zlatan (and Erik Hamrén) retire from our NT, we'll rise again.

 Problem isn't Zlatan, it's almost everybody around him. Sweden have a group of players that became European champions and none of them are actually in the team. Instead Hamrén insists on playing players that spend their life in mediocre clubs, Andersson for example, instead of giving a young player a chance. Your sentence should be: once Hamrén is gone, the national team will rise.

As long as the main focus lies only on Zlatan and not the collective, Sweden will never advance in the FIFA-ranking. No one is talking about the shortcomings Zlatan has. Which leads to consequences for our NT. Zlatan has played for teams that always has the majority of possession. Zlatan is just 100% offensive and that's how you can get the best of him. But if you play Swedish national team, it requires other properties that benefit the collective. You have to be comfortable when it comes to run off the ball because Sweden doesn't always have the majority of possession against many teams in the world. It required a huge level of fitness because it's necessary to constantly pressing against the opposing players. Something that Zlatan lack and in turn, will affect the whole team. His presence on the pitch could be a burden for us. And because of it, Sweden has fallen to places between 30-45 in the FIFA ranking. And again, Sweden will gradually advance on that list when Zlatan retire from my national team. But of course a Zlatanist (the Swedish word for Zlatan-fanboy) will just ignore what I said above and still believe that only Hamrén is the problem for us.

So you think taking Zlatan out of this team will make them perform better? K.

I can't see any reason why Sweden should keep him given to what I said. But if you don't have any valid counter-arguments to come up, I'm not gonna change my mind.

Any rumors in Sweden about him wanting to play for Sweden and help them qualify for world Cup?

He hasn't talked about it - yet.
