Is this something you have thought about for a long time?
No. We had a panel discussion regarding all the negative aspects within the sports and doping and we highlighted about what happened at Juventus in the early 2000s.
It's pretty serious accusations.
It's not an accusation at all and it's not directed against Zlatan. What I'm saying is that no one can go up 10 kilograms within 6 months. We were talking about the situation at Juventus and mentioned Zlatan because he is such a big star. Whatever it's Zlatan or anyone else, it doesn't matter. It's physiologically impossible to go up so much weight in such a short time.
But is it right to mention Zlatan when he has never been tested positive for doping?
Zlatan was just as an example because it was mentioned in the media about what happened at Juventus. It's the kind of thing I read thorugh the news, things that are common knowledge. Then there's a opportunity to speculate about it. Juventus had a doctor (Riccardo Agricola) who was sentenced to 22 months in prison.
But he was cleared...
Yeah, yeah, I'm not really familiar with it, I only know that players were found guilty of doping during that period.
How do you think Zlatan will feel when he read about this?
It's not my job to think of it. I talked about a general situation at Juventus. I have nothing to be worried about. It's a shame if he takes it as a personal accusation. The topic was more about doping in team sports.
With all the attention already followed, do you regret that you named Zlatan?
I could have figured it out, it was a bit by me. I regret of course that this resurrection has occurred, but I ttand still my opinion about the weight gain.
