Well, they did learn alot from that deal, about the types of players, the types of characters to bring into Barcelona. I'd almost say it was worth it with the lessons they learned.

But the Ibra-deal already came out of a lesson; Eto was a character problem, not a performance problem.Well, they did learn alot from that deal, about the types of players, the types of characters to bring into Barcelona. I'd almost say it was worth it with the lessons they learned.
As shown by the great deal we got with Alexis.
The fact that our scouts were present during the one game where he looked like Barca material (scoring 4 of the 11 goals he would go on to score that season) had nothing to do with it.
We needed a winger who could slot in and had great passing ability and could take on his man while providing an alternative to the messi goal fiesta. Insead we got Alexis.

Yes, but the thing about this Ibra-deal is not only that he was bought expensive (there are a lot more examples of those deals), but that he was soon sold way, way under market value as well.Lots of deals have been worse, Kaka to Real Madrid just to name one. He's cost them a lot more over the years and contributed less than Zlatan did his one season in Barca.
Good Lord. I need that track. Just going to cruise around with that blasting out. I am not even a big fan of his!
Huge difference between Alexis at Udinese and Alexis now, though...
