You are confusing best individual display with best team display.
These teams were complete, Messi shined in them, but he did much less than he did in carrying the avg 18/19 into CL semis

Last season you wouldn't say the same. Last season he scored total of 3 goals. This season sees a massive jump to freaking 29 goals. It is still can be just one season wonder when everything suddenly go right for him.

Plus Lucho has huge role in there. He manages Dembele very well.
