Always thought RB was a bit of a stretch, RCB fine, did excellent against PSG but he's not a RB.

Chelsea isn't exactly a bad team. Point me to the "Horrenodus" games Rafinha has had? He had 2 games which his positioning along side Iniesta was suspect but that doesn't match up to your description of him being extremely inconsistent.

Better than montoya ever looked, and this is his first time playing there. It might be presumptuous of me to say but given a couple seasons under his belt as RB he might actually end up fighting for a starting position there.

Hopefully Lucho uses him more often than not rather than a left-footed CB.
