Rotation is somehow overrated anyway. We won CL + La Liga while reaching the CdR final in 2010/11 with an extremely thin squad. Even the Treble team in 08/09 didn't have that much depth. Jose's Madrid barely rotated as well and looked fit throughout the seasons. Same with Heynckes Bayern.

Even in top form he's still our worst CB. I'd even trust Mascherano more in big matches. He was never "world class" at Arsenal, quite the opposite. His performances were always overrated because he was an offensive weapon and scored many goals.

A solid, well balanced team is more important than a world class manager. Even an amateur manager like Löw won the World Cup title. Although it's obvious Simeone would improve their chances massively and I'd love to see Messi win the WC. Maybe 2022...
