I think he'll still get game time if he stays, MSN needs to be rested especially in the first half of the season, they've all been involved in international cups and what not.

I don't see a lose in speed, I see a lose in frequency of use of that speed. If he actually tries to run he seems the same (Remember Messi never had extreme sustained speed like Ronaldo or Bale but just insane acceleration).

As we saw with Roberto, if Samper shows enough ability to get playing time Lucho will allow him to improve and move him into positions where his skills will be useful. He may start at cdm but if he shoes enough playmaking he'll definitely get time at cm.
