You misunderstood my point. If Schalke would sell for 15M then why wouldn't Bayern put in a bid as well? 15M is not much for one of the top German prospects. And if Schalke refuses to sell to them but not to us that would only work for them if Goretzka prefers Barça. And if Schalke are in danger...

So much is involved in winning the CL, including luck, mentality, timing, and teamwork that individual talent alone is not an exclusively convincing indicator. Going by talent they surely are among the top contenders now, but I doubt that was the problem last season rather than lacking the right...

He hasn't torn his ACL or something comparably damaging. Even if this rumour of two months is true, he'll be back to match fitness in January at the latest . He'll want to start integrating into the team then instead half a year later. He has one season as the top performer in a top 3 league...

The most important thing for him is to adapt to and gel with Barcelona's play(ers). Loaning him out will delay that process to next year.
