Luis Enrique: "I've three goalkeepers and I'll use them as I think is best. I don't believe in the cliche that you need a fixed starter."

Let's be real, more than half of what Lucho says is very purposely with the intention of deflecting from giving info to the press. He's willing to make jokes or ambiguous statements to avoid giving an 'open' answer that can have anything construed from it the way the media does (like how he refused to comment on the Catalan Independence march). For example, he just joked that he was taking things 'conservatively' by making 9 changes in the starting lineup. Don't expect him to give anything away about his plans or reasoning.

IIRC he also said he won't tell us why he had Rakitic covering wide areas so that tactics wouldn't be revealed. Also, not one media source predicted the starting lineup correctly today. Lesson being that Lucho will not inform the media of his plans openly in any way.

Yeah, that better be motivation tactics so Bravo believes he's got a genuine chance and continues training hard. :VdB:

Didn't have much to do, but his distribution was much better than what Bravo have showed so far.

I'm trying not to be too biased, but the difference from him to bravo seems quite evident. He looks much more composed and confortable. Also, a better distributor.

Good smooth distribution, a header a la Neuer and a good crucial save at the end.
Liked a lot his game and I'm eager to see him vs. PSG.

Despite only having to make one proper save he looked much more at ease than Bravo IMO

Definitely, I felt better with him in goal. He looked relaxed, confident and seemed to be more alert in great positions. Plus that save though :lucho2:

Nope, not even close. But given time, I believe he has the capability to surpass even last season Valdes :)

Nonsense, how is he "not even close"? The minutes we've seen him play including pre-season he's been absolutely incredible. Great saves and some sublime passes, while showing great composure. Valdes was and is great, but Ter Stegen is showing he's one for the future. His level is incredible, and he's only 22.

Valdes was a legend. He had a very difficult job which was unique to Barcelona. It remains to be seen whether Mats will live up to Valdes, but one thing we can say for sure... he is far better at commanding his box. Couple that with our new height in defence ( no more Masch ) and we should see our set piece vulnerability cut in half.
