Why am I getting this feeling after watching all the video clips and pictures (other than that one where he and Messi bear hugged each other) of celebrations that Ter Stegen is left out of the team a bit? I mean, I get this feeling that he is still being seen as the new kid on the block, hardly saw him mingling with the core group of players.

Is it just me?

Not only you. Obviously we might be completely wrong but I get that feeling as well. Although I don't agree with being the new kid on the block part is the reason why. I'd guess it is more of cultural / personality thing isolating him, he's the only German in a team full of south americans and spanish people and he's younger than most. I get the impression he has a good working relationship with his teammates and there's no trouble between him or anyone but he doesn't connect on a deeper level with anyone due to said the cultural differences.

He probrably has a language block right now. It'll fade away in a year or so. Iirc he gets along very sell with Rakitic and Vermaelen.
He might have just been caught by the camera on the wrong moments tho.
This team is a family - noone is left out.

He doesn't talk spanish yet. At least not perfectly.
During press conferences he keeps answering in english. Not easy to talk and share things with the players who don't speak english (Leo, Iniesta, Neymar etc).

The first season is always difficult in terms of adaptation. I think that he'll be even better for us next season.

He is horrible under high balls, in that sense he is very like Valdes. For the moment I prefer Bravo, Ter Stegen needs some serious work in this area.

Horrible? Not really, we wouldnt have won the Copa and the CL if he had been horrible at crosses. That's something that improves with match fitness anyway. He plays so rarely that it is difficult to get alot of confidence and match rhythm.

I have seen him flap at countless numbers of crosses, as he did again last night. Its an area he badly needs to work on imo.

Better communication/spanish skills and more match rhythm will root out this in no time.

I would prefer one keeper for the CL and La Liga, and I think Lucho would agree....perhaps he will have a tough decision to make next season.
