Yeah, it was kinda funny why the least experienced goalie was given the most high pressured, knock out games. I feel perfectly safe with both. We are very lucky to have two great goalies, 10 years apart.

I have seen him flap at countless numbers of crosses, as he did again last night. Its an area he badly needs to work on imo.

You've got to cut him some slack.

He's just one year removed from practising under Uwe Kamps and he's famous for killing off any areal abilities goalkeepers had before.
At least that's the story told by Gladbach fans and you could see it by someone like Logan Bailly(the guy ter Stegen replaced in 2011), who started out great in that area and really faded.
Though, his(Bailly) gambling habits might have played a role in that.

And only playing just every other game doesn't help as well.

Anyways, very happy for MATS and proud of the Gladbach guy winning the tripple.

BTW: Barca can now open their check book again, thanks to some special clauses Borussia's spording director worked into that transfer.

Not only you. Obviously we might be completely wrong but I get that feeling as well. Although I don't agree with being the new kid on the block part is the reason why. I'd guess it is more of cultural / personality thing isolating him, he's the only German in a team full of south americans and spanish people and he's younger than most. I get the impression he has a good working relationship with his teammates and there's no trouble between him or anyone but he doesn't connect on a deeper level with anyone due to said the cultural differences.

Yeah. It is just that I get this vibe that you don't see a lot of other players approaching him enthusiastically, nor do you see him approaching others either. I mean, I saw Bravo in the pictures mote than him, and considering Ter Stegen was the one who played yesterday. His best friend so far seems to be Rakitic, which is understandable becase the latter speaks German. I hope he will overcome the language and cultural barriers and blend in soon, and I hope the rest of the players open them up to him and allow him in. He is our future.

Once he gets a full grasp of the language he'll be alright just like Raki whose Spanish is superb. He's a clever lad Marc, he'll be fine.

MAtS went for being Monchengladback keeper to being Barça's CL keeper. And won the freaking CL, with some very great saves, as the aguero penalty. All this while being 22. Of course he needs to improve some parts of his game, but he fullfilled his part remarkably this season.

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??

He had the save of the season for me, I haven't seen a better save from anyone else, I'm talking about the close up volley from Lewandovsky.
MaTS is an insane talent.

Well, Sporting Director Max Eberl said, when asked which team he would like to face in the CL, that he doesn't really care but that we haven't really said a proper goodbye to MATS and could do so if playing against Barca.

I mean, we're pot 4 and will draw a tough group anyways, so why not play against the champs. :p

As far as ter Stegen goes:
He does seem to a bit shakey at times but he just turned 23 years old and didn't play on a regular basis, which is key for a goalkeeper.
