We can't even afford to pay 18 mil for Nolito, so yes right now we HAVE financial problems. And I believe Liverpool could pay 25 mil for MAtS. He is young, talented and quite hyped for being a backup. Also Premier league is financially strong enough, so we might see such offers more often now.

Explains why money can't be spend in january. There are no problems to make selling a player needed.

We are restricted due to FFP, I believe. We can spend in the summer. Just not this winter.

Maybe, but after Neymar (and maybe Messi too) gets his new contract, our transfer budget will shrink again. And God help us, if we win treble again :). The bonuses would kill us.

Off topic, but this has always bothered me a bit; the indisputable fact that success on the pitch culminating to trophies is worse off from a business perspective, than, let's say, just reaching the final of everything!

I understand the world of football is complicated and it's a business that has so many variables - but it just seems...wrong, that our overall expenditure shoots up so much during the course of a successful season by way of bonuses. The benefit of increased shirt sales, more fans, etc. is more ....diluted.

what are you talking ? mats clearly was bought to be 1st keeper. but then bravo happend. bravo is doing a greta job but it doesnt change the fact that it was mats who should have been the 1st goalkeeper, but lucho has different opinion.

Bravo was bought to be no1 as well. But there can't be two no 1s in a team. It was always gonna be a competition between them for the GK spot. Right now, Lucho has found a way for Stegen to play (by giving him CL and Copa), but if it comes to a choice between Bravo and Stegen, odds aren't that great for MAtS.

The players didn't like that Ter Stegen didn't celebrate the Club World Cup final although they understand he wanted to play [md]

MD and Sport are only trying to sell papers.

Though considering that he, not Bravo, started in the CL campaign that got us to CWC, I can see why he's not ecstatic about being dropped in favor of Bravo.

the split in appearances is not 3/1, not even close. MAtS has 32 appearances for Barca, while Bravo has 52. So it's more like 1.5/1. This season (incl. the recent CWC matches), Bravo has 15 while MAtS has 11. The split would have been 50/50 had Lucho started MAtS in Japan. "An ugly gesture" is really stretching it.

Nailed it.

Mats should really focus on his future with us, learn from his colleagues, build chemestry and be nothing less than the complete professional, which he does in fairness.

As for this episode, if true, well he should try a big cup of shut the fuck up, he won the ucl and plays in arguably one of the best teams in history, getting minutes and a fuck tone of perspective ahead, so no not ok, no point in potentially shake our team.

Sorry, but fuck off kid, learn your place

 @ you freaking out over a goddamn MD headline. Not to mention that the whole issue is that he stayed quiet during The celebrations. And you're telling him to STFU when you should be saying that he should match the team dynamic and show some team solidarity. :rofl1:

looked like cultural differences in general. Neymar, Dani Alves and other SA-players celebrating that thing like fire whilst europeans are hardly cracking a smile. MATS didnt even do that. Other than that the CWC is basically a better friendly, and if MATS doesnt even play those, what would he celebrate for in general? However, I dont think that was a biggie. Wasnt well received but isnt gonna ruin any relationship, apart from maybe the one between MATS and Enrique (because those are obvious signs of feeling unwell imo).

It's like with Bartra getting left at home for the Clásico. Both were obviously looking to at least play some part in the games, but were entirely left out. That shit fucking hurts man.
