Why do you keep saying that he'd be benched? By that logic, is Ter Stegen benched? It's just a role reversal from League Keeper to Cup Keeper.

Hypotethically speaking. He's not benched, but if he will be benched while his performances are still top, it would be age discriminatory imo.

In your ideal world maybe, but that's not how it really works. None of these players would be playing for Barça if they didn't have that individual drive and ambition.

No, because we saw how inexperience hurt Ter Stegen in the time Bravo was injured. Bravo should stay no1 in La Liga because he has proven to be the best in this competition, not because he is older.

What about the folks that claimed Bravo should displace TS from the Cl as well? And we should consider that the defense was less than satisfactory at the start of the season. TS and Bravo both suffered from this.
Yea but you are not getting it. Neither the fans, management or coach care about their personal ambitions.
They care about Barca winning (Barca, not Bravo or Mats or anyone). Barca wins if the key elements are used in the right place & time, not because "I feel I should be starter" approach

Ter Stegen is no Pinto or a trainwreck that we'll lose the Liga if he starts.
You can make the exact same argument about Bravo playing in the Copa and CL. MAtS far more experienced with irregular playing time and a winner in both competitions so by that logic, Bravo certainly doesn't deserve starting in those competitions either.
Look at it that way, a switch would mean we'll see what both GKs are made out of, in competitions they're yet to showcase themselves in. Ultimately it's up to the management and what they prefer.

So, no problem in reversing their roles. Who plays la Liga gets more playing time. Cl and cdr don't have many minutes guaranteed. Which is what mats needs more than Bravo.
