He embarrassed himself vs. Bilbao last season.
Maybe it's time for redemption.
Rolling my eyes. His redemption for the match in August already happened on January 20th, or have you forgotten about that series of near the post fingertip-saves? We wouldn't have won without ter Stegen and Iniesta, if Dani didn't have a braindead moment in final minutes of the match with that weak clearance a.k.a. a direct pass to Aduriz turned into an assist a second later, the end score would be 3-0. Of was that his fault too? Some people on this forum made a conscious decision to memorise only bad moments and of only certain players a long time ago so it's pointless to acknowledge their 2 cents anymore...

Spot on.

Thinking about people saying 'What if ter Stegen gets injured', I took a look at some of the other 2nd GKs at the top teams in Europe.

Real Madrid: Kiko Casilla

Bayern Munchen: Sven Ulreich/Tom Starke

Atletico Madrid: Miguel Moya

Juventus: Neto

PSG: Alphonse Areola

I certainly prefer Diego Alves over Cillessen, but are we really that fucked in the GK position with ter Stegen and Cillessen?

I presume Areola will leave PSG on a loan or be sold next season too if he doesn't get regular minutes.

Wow, SPORT is really pushing their Anti-MAtS agenda.

Another crappy (unsigned) article about poor Bravo being mobbed out of the club by the evil german.

Worse than used toiletpaper...

I think Cillessen might actually be the best out of all those 2nd option keepers.

I would take Areola over him but he's 24 and probably wouldn't want to come here to compete with MATS who's the same age. He probably also likes his chances to eventually beat Trapp to become starting GK in PSG one day.

I agree. Trapp looks like a very hot and cold GK.
