De Gea had a blunder today? Let me put it this way. De Gea was the city of Barcelona and Stegen was fucking Jupiter.

Great then, let's replace a keeper who makes terrible mistakes every few games with one who makes less terrible mistakes that still lead to unnecessary goals. Flawless logic.

The thing is, Ter Stegen shouldn't stop playing the ball with his feet but he needs to evaluate his options better. Mathieu was completely free and passing the ball to him would've been much easier than lobbing it over an onrushing attacker to Alba.

Pique said what he had so say, good on him.

WTF is Pique saying?! Continue with this passing?! I hope this guy learns now that the only normal passing from GK is SAFE passing!

You see how a: "he is our keeper for the next decade" easily goes through the window.

Anyway, just a wild thought: imagine if we sell Ney for 180-200M and Mats for 50-70=250M combined?
That's quite a lot of money for a real-deal players, like DeGea/Curtois and tons of money left for a LW+mifdield.

Aka, players with mental strength, motivation and much less showboating (Ney&Mats) for our team.

Courtois in the same post as "mental strength" and "motivation".

No. We should have just stuck with what was known to be working. That was Bravo in the league. There's an old saying that says you don't fix what already is working. Which is what we tried to do, and ended up creating a problem for the team that didn't even exist before. We had Bravo who went two seasons without making a single mistake of this magnitute, won the Zamora, and was overall either the best or the 2nd best keeper in the league. We screwed the pooch, that's what we did.

That is exactly the problem. He is not Neuer. He's Neuer's 2nd back-up.

he is much better than neuer with his feet. what happened tonight will not change this..

it was bound to happen sooner or later.. but imo the advantages he brings with his passing are enormous for us. the last thing we need is a goalkeeper discussion.

Team leaves its guts on the pitch to catch up form 3:0 to 3:2 and he does THIS?!?!?!? Arrogant idiot. There are better GK in fu*kin 2nd League. MAtS, you just DON'T DO THAT Just DON'T!

If Pique really thinks that way then there lies the problem. The team have been brainwashed into thinking he is a sweeper there to take risks that defenders wont.

But if De Gea still want to return to Spain, and you can sign him for let's say 30m. Do you still try to find someone in La Liga or go for a proven World Class GK that's also in his mid-20s?

If he "still" has the rumored 40M buyout clause and we proved to have a need for no1 GK I would do it in a heartbeat.
De Gea for me has been one of the top 4-5 GKs in the world in the past few years even with couple of mistakes here and there
It would be also a good slap on RM and would be nice to have Spain no1
But it depends totally on Unzue & Lucho (if they stay) tbh, this club has unmatched tolerance for GKs tbh. Most clubs in the world would have never stick for VV that much for example.
MATS wasn't Lucho choice but he allowed Bravo to leave for him so he clearly is a fan, though Lucho has a history of changing his opinion
Anyway we are just pissed and too early for such kneejerking reaction
