His is a puzzling case. He made his name in Gladback precisely for his strong mental game. His time in Barca, however, has been a mixed bag in this regard. He has performed fairly well in the domestic front but has consistently failed in the deep end of the CL. Now whether it's a reflection of his true self or the circumstances he finds himself in, it's hard to tell. I'm gravitating towards the former.
I don't condone the vitriol directed towards him. But he's just as culpable as his teammates, if not more, for today's horrific show. He's been instrumental in our recent success, and will make a profit to the club if he's sold. So I wouldn't be averse to moving him on if it came to that. If are to rebuild the squad and start afresh, those who will or can perpetuate a fragile mindset need to be distanced.
