Why he sarcastic tho. Do people really expect the 2nd to be a routine save?

It is swerving upwards to the roof of the goal it isn't easy for under 6 foot 3 keeper to save

Ok, so 1 blunder, and 1 "not his fault", from 4 shots, 1 of which was almost like a training pass, and one hit him in the chest. While the other keeper saved a penalty and had another 2 top class saves.

So now we expect at least one fuck up from him leading to a goal every game? And we are suppose to b ok with that.

Nope, of course it is not OK. Just how it was tonight. Unlike people who linched him for the second goal, which was a very good shot that many don't save

Valdes left. He was rotated with bravo. For no reason, just to make him happy. Bravo always performed better till he cried his way to the starting spot.

then cried about german national team.

then cried about wanting to be the highest paid.

With no performance to show for it.

First goal was a blunder, and one I wouldn't put up with him doing regularly. Don't remember the last one like that?
Second goal is a type of goal I am fine letting in. There are no one saving those all the time, some do it more often than Stegen, but it's a price to pay for having a keeper with good feet and better reactions+1v1.

If he doesn't have better reactions+1v1 compared to some alternatives, then ok let's think about changing keeper. He did make one pure 1v1 save today at least.

He's obviously a decent goalkeeper, but he is not winning us extra points at the moment.

These are the margins which could have had us top of LaLiga.

Take Oblak for example. Worst penalty stopper, but when it matters he has stopped Atls last 3 pens which has kept them top.

I don't follow Atletico very closely, but keepers have looked great in Atletico since Simeone arrived. I guess they changed their approach a bit lately, and it is true that the keepers have mostly been great by themselves too, but it's very much different to be a keeper in Atletico compared to in Barcelona.

I get the idea he's this playmaker of goalkeepers, but basically he's no better than Patrick Vieira with hand gloves. Barca need a GK who saves with hands, not another libero.

Atletico's defence haven't been great since Godin left. Oblak is the biggest reason they let in so few goals.

And more: where are the shots coming from, how often do the defence help by covering one half of the goal, or by pressuring the striker to take the shot at a predictable time and so on...

Here is one of the greatest saves I've seen lately, as the ball goes between the legs of Pique
The chance just after, by Griezmann, wouldn't be saved by Navas were it on target, even though he was loading up for a while and clearly aiming there, from further away.

But all in all, whether it's harder or not to be goalie in Atletico or in Barcelona - I say it's different, different types of keepers will shine at the different clubs.

FTFY.

Not sure why everyone keeps forgetting when the CL humiliations actually began.

Not defending Stegen btw. Horrible season from him, and he has the same problem as Alba where he collapses in big games.

Don't know about this, we had humiliations in 2013 against tough opponents when half of the team was missing or playing injured, including our coach.
Up until 2017 (3 more seasons) we weren't humiliated , then from 16/17 we were getting hammered on yearly bssis.

Strong argument can be made it started in 16/17 seasons when MATS became undisputed starter in both league and CL
Correlation isn't always causation tbf
