Don't agree with your last point. I think GK needs to have a full confidence in his defense to do well (of course this correlation is two-ways but I don't hink having MATS in goal is a reason for Pique being pyhsically done, Alba being a mental midget, Lenglet's stupidities etc). If you'd put Oblak behind our defense he'd maybe save some more shots but he'd also concede a lot of "easy" goals (people are blaming MATS for now) with Pique, Alba&Co. "defending" in front of him. And OTOH if you'd put MATS in Atletico he'd do much better.

Sure, on paper it would be easier to replace a GK than 3 or 4 defenders but I think even if we get a new GK (which we won't) and don't replace players in front of him in a year or two people would complain about a GK again. So it's clear to me we need to upgrade defense first, hopefully bringing a CB who can be a leader of that defense and make everyone around him better, then hope Araujo will stay fit and develop well, that we'll find a good competition and potential longterm replacement for Alba and at least one of Emerson and Dest will turn out good longterm.

From our current defenders only Araujo knows how to defend and he's injury prone. Yes, he still needs to learn a lot and would benefit having a more experienced and class defender alongside him but we don't have one. Mingueza brings some things I like but he's just an average defender overall who shouldn't be anything more than a squad player. We'll see about Garcia but I don't have much trust in his defending abilities either. Dest is still young and could improve but I think if he'll stay here for more than another season or two it will be more because of his offense (where he obviously needs to improve a lot as well) than him being anything more than adequate defensively. Emerson is a much better defender so I really hope we'll give him a chance. Alba even in his prime has never been anything more than a bit above average defender imo and he's below average now only staying because of his understanding with Messi and because we don't have a better option. And he's probably currently still our 2nd best defender which really says all.

Good news for Germany as their chances of winning the Euro, in the event of a Neuer injury, have just significantly increased.

Agree with you totally, this guy faced 12 shots
In 5 games which is not much at all and conceded 6
Goals, i think he needs a defence that conceds 1 shot
On goal in 5 games, so he will conceds 1 goal only
