Keep in mind that Courtois has a way better defense in front of him, so Ter Stegen gets way more shots to save and crosses to claim.

If you watch Man Utd you'd know that De Gea is their most valuable player, only player for United this season who has performed, easily top 10, better than Courtois, I'd say Courtois is way better than De Gea when he was 21, but De Gea currently makes constant game winning saves, is excellent on his feet and has improved dramatically in the air. He's actually bulked up so much he's becoming amazing.

I don't know much about Ter Stegen -I would have gone for Courtois ANY day of the week!
Courtois has shown he can do it on the biggest stage of all while Ter Stegen hasn't even played CL. Courtois has played many big games on the other hand and excelled in them.

He also played two of those games with teams that weren't anything close to the German national team and one against Argentina, were he saved a penalty from Messi and then played on a team with one man down.
Though, he's been nominated for that friendly against Poland next week but I do hope he won't play there. Löw will play a glorified under 21 squad against a motivated polish side were the keeper can only look bad.
