Barçapocalypse NOW!
now that i am calmer :

Definitely one of the worst players Barca have ever had. the worst GK at least .

Baia, Hesp and Bonano are all laughing at your post... And those are the recent ones... Valdés is probably one of the best keepers we've ever had, he just has a habit of making us suffer with his feet work...

Can you people stop going full retard?
Have you ever played in goal to see how much pressure is on you? There are certain moments when you have time to clear the ball or pass it like 3 times, but you just freeze and can't do anything about it. I know you're gonna say he's supposed to be world class, but shit happens.

I think he really had a good game. After conceding the first goal, he was very confident and started coming out on crosses a lot.

He was outperforming Casillas when Barca was dominating games with 70-30 possession and RM was in that transformation period and their defense was going through a tumultuous time, with Raul Albiol fucking things up and Ramos being used a RB/CB and doing a very poor job defensively.
Like RM weren't dominating games... and our defense had one main weakness: letting attackers through one on one vs Valdes... still he often came to the rescue. Casillas on the other hand had easier shots to save.

It's him and Zubi... arguably Zamora :puke: too

It's not just 'one major mistake' though. One major mistake is what you say it is, happens once. I mean people should also learn from their mistakes. VV has to do this every so often, he's still a great keeper, but isn't doing his reputation or the team any favors with these flops. 3-1 and 3-2 are very different results in a 2 legged tie.

If we compare Valdés from 2005–2007 to the one from 2008–2012, I can say that he has changed quite a bit both confidence and mistake wise (those two are related). He's definitely become more daring, and to some extent that has come to haunt him. And no, his mistakes over the past few years have gone down quite a bit. Yes, he did have his blunders the previous seasons as well, but he was no way worse than, say, Casillas

I'd say that Valdes is a more complete goalkeeper than Casillas.

Casillas can't kick a ball to save himself but his reflexes make up for it.

Well my dear, what do you suggest Tito does about it?

I say we let him redeem himself in the second leg, and if not, then Pinto should have a go for a few games just as a reminder that there is competition for the spot.

He should feel that there really is competition for the gk spot. I dont think there is. And I dont hate him. I recall being the only one to put him as my gk in my la liga team here. But he cannot give rm cheap goals again

I tend to disagree on this one. Despite of Pinto not getting any younger, he did make his intentions quite clear from the outset of this season by saying that he's aiming for the spot. But yeah, agree with the fact that he should definitely do better in situations like that. I do think, however, that he'll be able to redeem himself accordingly.

really vv is average, bc of the dominance of barca he seldom has much to do.
barca is the only top side in europe who do not had a top keeper.
last year he was responsible for the first goal against md in de league in bern. and the first and second in cn league, today again.
that is just to much man.
