1 - Victor Valdes

Gotta respect his decision.

All I can say is thanks for all the great years he gave us and for announcing his decision so early so Barca have time to look for a replacement :D Best of luck for his future too.

i think it has something to do with this: allthough FCB stated that they would like him to continue till 2018; they also said some time ago that it wasnt urgent to make a deal while it was urgent with other players. He must not feel valued.

If true, then he must already have an offer. I don't really see where he could go to get more money. He's too young for China or Anzi so I would bet on PSG.
I don't think PSG would want him, he don't got the best reputation.

I'm generally shocked, because I don't understand the reason for this. I'm sure it's not about money. Maybe some kind of a personal desire to play in a different league, to try something new. Some people are just like this.

Anyway, for me he's the #1 goalie in Barcelona's history. Until someone proves the opposite.

During the meeting with the club today, Valdes' agents made it clear there was no need for the club to even make an offer. [ser catradio]

Agreed, desoe...He's 31 years old and a career Barcelona player - his position as the team's #1 was secure...So while I can appreciate his desire to experience playing abroad, I do worry that this potentially can cause a domino effect...I mean, who might be next?...I don't expect an exodus but once one longterm player leaves when he is still arguably in his prime, no telling who else might follow

Contract ending in 2014 means the club might look to move him sooner so as to at least get something from the player or will they let him play out his contract?

Worrying, tbh

Why do they have to make it sounds like it's a painful break-up? Is there something going on that we don't know about?

I'm only worried about his BFF Iniesta.
