Valdes' few blunders are the reason so many people underrate him. It's like... "Oh, a blunder there, he must be completely shit then."
maybe you`re right. and the way he left the club didnt help either.
what we went through before him being the first choice still hurts and at last it was a right to stick with him even though him not being the world beater in his early days.

¡Gr?*cies Xavi!
His form during the 05/06 season was pretty good too. We wouldn't have won the CL that season if it weren't for him.

Not really. Last season was his best by far. He was certainly nowhere near as good in the 2012-13 season (for example).

Last season he was probably the best keeper in the world before he got injured, doesn't mean he was bad the seasons before. He's been immense since 2008.

Carvajal (agent Valdes): "Liverpool didn't offer us a 4-day trial, so we didn't reject such an offer either - the story is false." [sport]

That injury really messed his career up... he missed out on 6 months of wages, and can´t possibly ask for the wages he used to get now that he´s been out for so long. Hopefully he finds a CL club and have some good years.

He has himself to blame, FC Barcelona was willing to offer him the same wage as Iniesta, 8 million euros net, that is almost 19 million a year for the club. But since he was so greedy he went with AC Monacos offer of 15 million net x 4 which is 60 million net. For FC Barcelona to match AC Monacos offer, they would have had to spend 140 million over 4 seasons in wages for Valdes, the club was willing to spend 75.

Anyway, Valdes is pretty up there, he blew 10 million on building his house in Gava Mar, the house took something like 7 years to build and then he sold the house just 4 years after moving in. The guy is clearly a complete nutcase.

Manchester United have just confirmed that Valdes will continue his rehabilitation with them. He'll work with the United staff and eventually train with the first team.

It would be a weird move for him considering De Gea is there. Perhaps he is just going there for rehabilitation but if they are offering that then they might be interested in signing him.

It was requested by Van Gaal, Valdes accepted. But he hasn't signed with them... If he does in the end, he'll bench De Gea :p
