What's next for Victor now anyway? He is better keeper than Romero, but is there any way he can patch up his relationship with van Gaal? Cancel the contract with United and hope to be called upon as free agent as emergency player if any GKs get injured before January?

Monaco have decided not to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes (32), who decided not to renew his expiring Barcelona contract. [lequipe]

Good luck finding another club willing to fork out 15 million euros net a year, GOOOOOOOOOD luck:lol:

If he wants to, I bet many teams would pay him all that. :rofl1: Of course he'd have to go farther, to russia, qatar etc. But he can easily do it.

PSG or City will get him if Monaco backs out. :chuckle: Remember, Pellegrini wanted to get him last January. He wants to replace Joe Hart.

Turns out Valdes wasn't in such a high demand after all huh, now his career is pretty much ending as a Manchester United reject unable to find a club even paying him 1/10 of what he was promised by Monaco, he must have nightmares thinking about all the monies he has lost because of his brainfart, remember, he was offered to sign the contract with Barcelona AFTER his injury but still refused :fool:

Not exactly a shocker. Many (if not most) football supporters think Valdes is a shit keeper. He was never going to be in high demand. And that injury before he left FCB pretty much ruined any possibility of continuing his career normally afterwards.

Didn't we offer him renewal again after his injury? tbh he should have accepted it at that time .

I think we did. To be fair, he would have looked like a douche if he had accepted that offer after pompously announcing that he was leaving. But yes, it probably would have been the best decision.

Valdes just wanted that Monaco millions with less pressure than Barca. Then again there was always more love from the club towards him than vice versa. He felt performing 3 months after years of mediocrity warranted it and stuck by it, didnt even say goodbye either.
Oh well, He can always move to Qatar or New York or just quit finally and be a happy ordinairy citizen, maybe even take a regular job.

Man, all that hate it's bad for you. What did he do, killed your puppy?

I don't think he considered going to qatar yet, or he would have a place there, as Xavi, and many others, did . He still wants to play in a meaningful league.

I don't know why any Barca fan would hate Valdes tbh. Sure he says stupid things from time to time, but in the end he is a good guy and a Barca legend above all things. And it's not like he pulled a De Gea on us or smth.

Never understood what made him leave us.He had friends here and the little criticism he had was something that any professional player at this level face.Nothing at all like casillas.I respect his decision anyway but it did not turn out as expected.I never thought that a keeper like valdes would go through for the last 1.5 years that he has been going through. He was a better keeper than a lot of clubs keepers that could have afforded him.I pray to god he gets regular playing time in a competitive environment.

Former Barça captain Victor Valdes could join Mourinho's Chelsea, who will be missing Courtois for four months. (md)
