Also if your reaction to what Valdes said is "other people have it bad, he should be glad he's making millions" then you're gonna have to actually read/watch the whole interview and take some time to think about why you are wrong.

nah it's more about trolling you, because you really seem to have it in for him.

But hopefully you can see the hypocrisy in your attitude towards Valdes by now.

He's definitely a weird personality to deal with and comes across as a bit unintelligent. He's not happy with his life as a goalkeeper and feels he was pushed into the profession but he'd be even more unhappy if he was factory worker. Some people are just that way and they'd never be happy irrespective of the circumstances. He's just lucky that instead of being an unhappy average guy who'd probably repel people like crazy, he's a footballer who can afford to act like miserable c*** and still have everything in life..

Why the fuck are people comparing him to factory workers? Did he say in the interview that he wished he was a factory worker instead of a goalkeeper?

I dont have it in for Ronaldo, not at all, just rip him at times cause he so extremely shallow, vain and not in Messi's league. But I dont care as much to be honest.

Also dont feel im being hypocritical towards Valdes, but I did change my approach, I no longer think he is spoiled and whiny about it just doesnt understand how lucky he is, makes me feel kind of sad for him. I hope het gets a reality check soon or quits football to do whatever makes him happy.

Factory workers have shit jobs/lifes in general, he also comes across as a guy who would be one if he didnt ended up being a goalie, but thats just a stupid assumption I guess.
Still, would be very good for him, let him give away al his money, work in a factory for a few months, in a trailer living from paycheck to paycheck with no bright things on the horizon. Kind of like a christmas carol starring Valdes as scrooge, in the end he learns an important lesson and lives happily ever after.

I think that is exactly the problem: you wouldn't let him complain about his inner life, that he is depressive, thinking the football business to be superficial and far away from real life. He tells people he has learned a lot when he had time for himself (having an injury, a lot of time to think, no games) to reflect, when he was all of a sudden out of the superficial footballing life into real life, not being known in Augsburg, no pressure (apart from his injury) etc. This is not bitching it is his very own opinion of himself and his career in football. He thinks he wasn't as talented as people told him so (believe me he knows how lucky he was if he says he didn't think of himself as talented) in his early youth... it's the translation of "I didn't know by then what this meant, it was rather an unconscious career choice, if I knew how much pressure / headache etc. I'd have, I wouldn't have done it ever"! And it's not about him being an unintelligent person either just because he is supposedly (according so some here) not understanding the luck he has with - wait for it - his millions?! The only thing the trolls have contributed here is his money and his luck! Believe me, it is not as important and as a difference as you think it is! I have not yet seen a plausible argument why his statements are wrong! You could do more than that!

Round here the toughest part about being a factory worker is the hate you get for destroying economy by means of strong unions and high wages.

I see him as an electrician. A content electrician without too much pressure.

You don't know what you're talking about. Of course someone always has it worse/better.
Valdes is a public figure giving an interview to a sports paper that is read by fans/Barca fans and his own fans. That's throwing it in our faces kinda.
I don't preach to starved kids about my life (though I personally could to many people, having grown through war and poverty).

Everyone in life plays roles. Role of a father, son, employee, boss, etc..
You can't talk to a kid or your teacher the same way. Valdes made a mistake there complaining to wrong people about his "tough path" when in fact that's something he should have saved for his private life or a therapist.

It was stupid and awkward of him.

Wouldn't call it a mistake. He's been shat on by a similar crowd for years. What difference does one more occasion make? At least this time it was for something he doesn't seem to mind doing.

This is where we disagree though. In my opinion, he's not complaining or preaching to anyone, he's just answering questions and reflecting on his choices. I don't think it was either stupid or awkward of him.

That's my final post on this matter.

And you know that how? Because you think so? Please, just stop throwing out opinions that you want to be facts because you said so. Show me at leats some research on suicides, there are plenty of them around.

Notice that I wrote "all celebrity overdoses". Some of them definitely are depression-related, no doubt about that, but some of them are simply people overdosing. Common sense tells you that. You won't see as many poor people overdosing, you know why? Because they don't have money to buy a shitload of cocaine to overdose on.
